I was wondering how this would play out in JW land.

I have a niece who is trying to get pregnant. She was telling me her husband had to go to a room with porn in it and masturbate into a cup to get tested. I never thought of this before but but how would a JW handle this. Porn, masturbation. Is there some kind of exemption or is it over looked if its medical or would one loose privileges if this was known? I don't know if this has ever come up before.

I once asked an Elder why masturbation wasn't a DFing offence, he replied " because they would have to get rid of all the Bethel Boys, biggest bunch of wankers I know" . Great guy in many ways, but still in.

Another one of his that shocked me at the time was " you can always tell when... (his youngest daughter)... has a new boyfriend, she doesn't smell so much of Piss".

I remember some article from the Borg about 20 years ago about IVF. (Not their most recent tirade that equated donor sperm or eggs or even surrogacy with adultery.). Basically, it acknowledged that IVF using the sperm and eggs of a couple married to each other was acceptable. But then it added something along the lines of, "The way the sperm is extracted may raise concerns."

They are so concerned that someone might masturbate that they cast aspersions on it even when it's a necessary part of an approved method of trying to conceive a child. Sheesh! Get a life!

That's one of those things that would be better to STFU about in JW Land. Just as is the practicing of oral sex.

(Of course, once you do it enough, it should no longer be a "practice". Right?)

Even if you bring in your wife to get sperm out without intercourse would be against JW rules. At least it was when I was in. If you masturbate or if your wife does it for you was a no no. I remember in Crisis of Conscience Franz said there was discussion in the GB room about making rules for what positions for sex was OK and what was not. But it was dropped as going a bridge too far.
