I had good reason to miss meetings once, because of a serious accident and they tried to drop- kick me into going to the hall. But , I said I am not going, because I am in to much pain!

when i was a kid we lived next door to the people who hosted our bookstudy. missing was never an option.
Tinkerbelle, that's a bummer! I bet the thinking was that with your family combined with theirs, you could have a "group" and have the bookstudy. Yikes.

rocketman..what's even worse, the people that lived across the street from us went to the same bookstudy, as did another family that lived one block away...we witnesses were taking over the joint!!!! :P

Living in California, we didn't have inclement weather, so no cancellations for that reason. If it was raining real hard, I enjoyed it because I love the sound of rain, we had a fireplace and we'd finally enjoy a restful evening without the guilt over missing meetings.

One spring the whole house came down with a yucky flu that wiped us out for a week. We were never missers, and certainly my mom was there every meeting with at least one of us kids. Well, after we were out for the second book study, someone finally called to see what had happened to us, and my mom was so pissed it took 'em that long to miss us, she kept us home for a month. I loved that month. Shoshana
