Dave, Joe here. I had to change my user name. Problem with password. Anyway, Bradshaw is still in the East Cong as far as I know. Charlie Thomas is an elder as of a couple of years ago. He is not well. He had a leg amputated a few years ago. His wife, Alice, my cousin, has cancer. Outlook does not look good for her. I don't know who the other elders are. I know that a couple of elders were sent in from Patterson headquarters to serve as elders in the east. I suspect they wanted some WT loyalists to be there to watch over that N Main St KH and property. As you may remember, the east cong were the official owners of the property. Having WT loyalists serving as elders and ultimately on the corp committee would insure that any thing the Society wanted in connection with that valuable property would pass with the voting influence of those Patterson elders. Actually, several years ago, the building and property were put up for sale. As far as I can see, there was no good reason to sell that hall. Seeing now what is happening with the sale of halls throughout the country, its now obvious that they were hoping to reap a windfall by selling it, having the brothers take out another loan to build another one with volunteer labor, and then make the WT owners. As you know, this is what is what is happening country wide. What a scam. They are literally stealing KHs right from under the noses of Witnesses. The hall did not sell so they took it off the market.

Hey Joe, I sent you a pm.

Thanks for filling me in on things. Send those elders from Paterson might have been part of the big reduction in work force at Bethel. You heard about the halt to all building projects except Warwick and one in England seems like they are in the nightmare stage of wishful thinking:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wishful_thinking

Christopher Booker described wishful thinking in terms of
"the fantasy cycle" ... a pattern that recurs in personal lives, in politics, in history – and in storytelling. When we embark on a course of action which is unconsciously driven by wishful thinking, all may seem to go well for a time, in what may be called the "dream stage". But because this make-believe can never be reconciled with reality, it leads to a "frustration stage" as things start to go wrong, prompting a more determined effort to keep the fantasy in being. As reality presses in, it leads to a "nightmare stage" as everything goes wrong, culminating in an "explosion into reality", when the fantasy finally falls apart.

I was looking though some of the topics and seen yours. I read your letter to the congregation and was surprised to see it was Sunnyvale Calif. it just brought up a lot of old memories I spent many years in the Sunnyvale congregation but that was years ago, my wife and I was married in that hall. I don't know where the hall is now, but we built the 1st one on Freemont Rd. None of the names sounded familiar But like I said that was some years back. Good to hear you're out and doing well. I left a few years ago, I was in a long time, I have a lot of memories, not all bad but just so much wasted time.
