Do You Still Easily Believe Everything?

To be a Witness you had to accept whatever spiritual food was being dished out. Even if it didn’t make any sense, we were expected to believe.

Now that we are out of the cult, do you find yourself a person who doesn’t just accept the status quo? Just because someone tells you something, do you tend to automatically question it, or do you revert to taking the course of least resistance?

because i find it less complicated to tell the truth--i tend to accept what people tell me as being true--unless its blatantly obviously false.

I have adopted the saying, "Trust, but verify." That has served me well, except when I was still running the JW treadmill, as they seem to believe whatever slop they are fed without question.

Well with the past couple of years of experience, - looking to experts in their fields for direction, (Dr Fauci, NHI, World Health Organization, Biden, Justice Department, Fbi, The FAITHFUL SLAVE, etc)------I don't believe anything or anybody.

It's not a coincidence that so many ex-JWs here are conservative or libertarian.

Me personally I Know some people are not evil, but trusting the better nature of people can get you in serious trouble. All it takes is one second.

Do I easily believe everything? No. I don't think I ever did.

When I was raised as a JW I came to believe 1914 as a significant date and 1919. Having accepted the faithful and discreet slave and that they were commissioned, appointed, etc. When I read something in the bible and saw it differently, I accepted that they were right and I must be wrong. I accepted the explanation on the basis of who they are according to that belief.

I am the same person I always was. No. I don't easily believe everything, never have.

No. My BS meter is always on alert and I sometimes am probably not trusting enough of other people.
