Was originally a stage play by Patrick Hamilton (probably best known for writing Rope - made into a film by Hitchcock)

When the Watchtower blames disproven doctrine on the sheep. "Some brothers felt ..." When some brothers = JW leadership. Perfect case of gaslighting.
I remember an old CO, asking an elder/servant meeting after the 1995 generation change: "WHAT? Are you serving Jehovah with some date in mind?" Gaslighting on steroids.

I would like to think that former JW's who woke up and left would be able to clearly identify gas lighting when it happens.
Alas, those who do seem to be in the minority.
