I have placed my photo in Yahoo like wasasister tole me to do; and placed the url in the profile. But it doesn't show up as you can plainly see. Does anyone have a clue why I can't get a clue on how to do this right?

    My pix is at:

I suspect the problem is operator head space, but can't quite pin it down.

    Hep!

Excuse me whilst I catch my breath! What a hottie!

Sorry I was less than detailed in my instructions. I'm not anywhere near the expert in such areas as others. However, I think you need more detail in your URL. When you have your picture up, point the cursor at it and right mouse-click. Under "properties" you should see the complete URL. Copy ALL of that into your profile. That should work.

Anyone else want to weigh in here?

The URL is to your yahoo area, not to your photo. An url to a photo generally ends in ".jpg" (sans quotes).

Thanks Jan, wasasister, 'n' apostate. Finally it worked. What a larnin' experience that was. And I learned something else, too; about yahoo. I'd never been there much and didn't know what the deal was. That's a pretty nice site.

Now I'm off to discover what IOQ or ICQ or IQC, or whatever that thing is, is.

P.S. My dear, perceptive, observant friend wasasister - thank you for your comments upon my humble countenance . You have made my entire week already.

Why on earth are you using the name "Francoise" ?
    It's a girl's name, and you are obviously not a girl !

Au contraire. Francoise is the Frenchification of Francis, a male's name; unlike Frances, a female's name.

Many of my French and French-Canadian friends call me Francoise, pronounced Franz'-swa.

I suppose you're going to be surprised to know that Maria is a common name for men in Germany? Like Rainer Maria Rilke, for instance.

And that is why on earth I use the name Francoise.

Um, I hesitate to comment on a matter so personal--but Francoise (pron. Fran-swahz) is in fact the feminine form of

    Francois (pron. as you said).

But having left the lockstep of the WTBTS, I hasten to add that you are free to use whatever spelling makes you happiest, or heureux, mon ami! Vive la liberte'!

Someone has already answered... Yes I know Marie or Maria is a common middle name for boys in France, Italy, Germany...
Do you know Jean-Marie-Baptiste Vianney ?
But Francois is the "masculine" name and Francoise is the "feminine" name. I am from France by the way, and my sister's name is Francoise, and I have at least two friends (girls) who are named Francoise. But whatever. At least now I know that I can't put a sweet lady's face on your posts, posts that I enjoy very much by the way.
