    DC was pretty much the dividing line back then. Everything was either black or it was white from there south. True neighborhoods were also very divided back then.

    I guess I'm still not understanding. Are you saying that DC, (With a roughly 50/50 racial mix in some congregations and at conventions even in the 60's) was an anomaly? Even were that the case, I'm still not seeing how that relates to Cohn's claim (As related by SBF, I've not read the book myself) that the JW's actively practiced segregation as far north as NJ.

    I was asking a question about the JW. I was never a JW. But DC including it's school system was pretty much separated till 1970. I know from my travels south during this time period everything south of DC most definitely would have been separated. Restaurant, movie theaters, schools, churches etc everything would have been divided.

    I do not recall the north as all if our travels were DC and south.

    It's amazing how nothing sticks to the Teflon Watchtower. Everything is just hand waved away by - Jehovah is always refining his organisation. In five or six years even the UN scandal will be long enough back that it just wont matter.
