Have there been a GB in the organization before that like the 'spot light' as much as the current one? They seem to be everywhere. From broadcasting, to magazine and selfie JWs post on Facebook with them.

It’s part of the rebranding process. Will it work for them? We’ll have to see...

What happened to the "discreet" part of the faithful and discreet slave?
I thought everyone was supposed to be equal in the org and there's no clergy class. They creep me out when I see them, there's just something creepy and untrustworthy about them. I felt the same when I was still a jw

They could be humble and say. We are not the best speakers. Let's support maybe younger ones that are improving. Pay the flight , food and other expenses. But no. They have to themselves fly around and show themselves off. Talk about do what I say and not what i do. Yeah the rebranding idea. Rebranding to call it welcome to Disney Land of lala land.

How does the Governing Body members and their up front public exposure identifying themselves contrast with the New World Bible Translation Committee who want to remain unidentifiable and not putting a name or face to them for translating the Holy Scriptures from their original languages of Hebrew ,Aramaic, and Greek into modern speech.?
Their has obviously been a change of heart with the Governing Body of Jehovah`s witnesses and putting a face to them that they never did before .
Can we expect to see the names and faces of those of the New World bible Translation Committee in the foreseeable future ? who gave us the Silver Sword /New World Translation of the Bible ?
Surely they need to be given recognition for the work they have done in providing this and other Bibles over the years .
What works in comparison have individual members of the Governing body ever done ?

Hey, maybe this (revealing themselves to the public and being in the public eye) is a good thing: It is really showing what type of persons these men are, not only to those R&F Jdubs who are questioning WT's motives but also to outsiders who have the same questions and/or suspicions.
They are certainly not faithful (disloyal) nor discreet (obtrusive and not low key) since they are broadcasting themselves like celebs (showing off their expensive jewelry) and displaying haughty attitudes in their speech (Herd, Splaine and, definitely, TOMO)!

When I wqs growing up there were decades when I didn't even know any names of the GB, never mind know what they looked like. They could have punched me in the face and I wouldn't have know who they were.
They always prided themselves on the fast that they were discreet and gave Jehovah all the glory.
I have never watched a broadcast for about 3 years and have no intention of doing so, but if they are intent on becoming well-known, famous 'pharisaic' characters then I hope they desrve all they get when the net closes in on the abuse cases etc.

OnTheWayOut
When I faded in 2006-07, the GB were still mostly out of the spotlight. Your average member did not know anything of them. I wrote in my elder resignation letter that I could not continue to promote their changes in "our" beliefs because I knew little of them, and I cited scriptures that said to "know" the little flock (or some such garbage Watchtower has plenty of).
In a way, I wonder if my congregation elders think "If only OnTheWayOut had waited, since the GB have stepped out into the spotlight. He could 'know' them now."

Yes. Totally different than the past. All of the changes show how this is NOT being run by God. Can't see it until we step away.
