The headline for the original post reads, in part, "WT Writer."

Do you have any support for that?

    Please and thank you.

He also published a few issue of the "JW Research Journal."

    JW Researcher,

He claims that in his bio that I linked to at the end of the OP.

I did scan the 23 page (13,431 word) ‘biography’ before I posted. Since it is somewhat chronological, I looked in the approximate area I thought it’d be mentioned. I also did a few word searches … all to no avail.

It is a tough read. The chest-pumping is enough to make Lloyd Evans appear humble and meek. Yikes!

I have an old cassette tape of a talk he gave to a group of ex JWs. I remember one part where ( at an assembly) babies were being left to sleep in the hot sun, and one or more infants passed away. Someone went to the person in charge to have an announcement made to mothers not to leave their babies to sleep in the hot sun. They refused, said they couldn’t waste “valuable microphone time” on unimportant announcements. What a loving organization.

    JWR,

His education and research (9 degrees & 800 papers in 12 languages and 20 books) is the longest list that I have ever come across... for anyone. I didn't get the sense of "chest pumping" from his bio; but it might be hard to avoid that impression given the list of academic accomplishments. The man must have a beast of a brain. I appreciated his candidness about his JW background, which would be universally viewed as 'ignorant" in my opinion. He has nothing to gain from that.

A good friend of mine has known him for decades, interviewed him a dozen times & never even knew he was an xjw, most people don't. I have been aware of his research for several years myself, and just found out this morning of his JW background. That is why I posted it. It's fascinating.

If you go to the link and hold your Fn button while you press the F letter key (for FIND) you will see a search box pop up where you can type the word "Jehovah". It will highlight those references and you can quickly find the quote.

Here is an audio interview with him for further evaluation:

Most of the "associations" listed in his CV can be joined by anyone by simply paying a fee. Listing one you founded that is not recognized by any other professional body is window dressing. I've read his work. Most of it is disappointing and he's been accused of inflating his credentials. I'd take anything he wrote with a grain of salt.

I'm not certain what the original poster's point is. That you become smarter after leaving the Witnesses? Giftedness is genetic. It can be cultivated beyond its genetic foundation by use. But leaving a religion, while it may open up areas one's previous belief closed, does not make you smarter. Also, giftedness implies that one can make more 'associations' - associate more factors and facts - quicker than others. But IF your friend reaches the same conclusions you do, but two days later, are you truly better than they are?

And MENSA? I belong to MENSA. It's fun or boring depending on the day and who you're with. But it does not certify you as anything. Stalin probably qualified for MENSA. He acted stupidly.

"Jerry Bergman, one of the many creationists who claim fake credentials as real (his “doctorate” is from Columbia Pacific University, an unaccredited diploma mill that was so bad that the courts shut it down in 2000.)"

"He considers himself one of the victims of persecution by "Darwinists", after he was denied tenure and dismissed from Bowling Green State University in 1978 “solely because of my beliefs and publications in the area of creationism”. He attempted, unsuccessfully, to take the university to court over religious discrimination. (It should be added that, in a signed letter published in David Duke's National Association of White People newsletter, he stated that “reverse racial discrimination was clearly part of the decision,” so even according to himself it cannot have been solely because of his religious beliefs.[12]) According to the courts, however, Bergman was terminated because of ethics, namely that he claimed to have credentials in psychology when, in fact, he “had no psychological credentials.”[13]"

I know Jehovah’s Witnesses try to discredit him for his work on mental illness among Witnesses.

    Vienne,

Columbia Pacific University (CPU) was an unaccredited nontraditional distance learning school in California.[1] It was founded in 1978 by Richard Crews,[2] a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, and Lester Carr, a former president of Lewis University,[3] and operated with state approval. Distance learning and education authority John Bear gave "high marks" to the school in his 1982 Bears' Guide to Non-Traditional College Degrees, 8th edition.[4]

    You don't like that one?

He has two Phd's . One is from Wayne State University is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit. The 200-acre traditional and high-tech campus is in the heart of Midtown, offering unparalleled access to cultural experiences, community involvement, and corporate career opportunities. Wayne State University is the third largest institution of higher learning in Michigan and the most diverse campus in the state with nearly 27,000 students from every U.S. state and nearly 80 countries.

    Plus several Masters Degrees elsewhere.

Many other scientists agree with Dr. Bergman... like Dr Sanford; longtime Cornell geneticist and author of Genetic Entropy as well as over 100 scientific publications..

One of Dr. Sanfords inventions is on display at the Smithsonian institute. He addressed the National Institutes of Health with an (to date) unanswered evolution shattering presentation on deleterious mutations.

Should we dismiss him too? No real Scotsman Vienne? (pick it up at around the 20 minute mark)

All a degree is --is -a paper saying you studied a certain field for a number of hours. Different than experience.

I have two degrees, one in business administration and the other in biology. All that means is I have a little bit more knowledge and understanding than your average person who didn't put in the hours to learn BA or biology.

I have one friend who got a degree in Business and didn't attend any college. He is a big wig manger for a bank. How did he do that????

    And there are tons of others who never went to college and got degrees. To name a few;

Mike Tyson, Kylie Minogue, Oprah, Ben Affleck, and Bill Gates

Even Bill Cosby has been the recipient of nearly 60 honorary degrees — everything from fine arts, music, education, and law

Once he was caught raping women, many of the Universities started revoking the degrees, (the piece of paper)

Humans make up all these illusions like Degrees, Money, CryptoCurrency, President of the United States of America, George Floyd.💪

But the truth is that Humans are Humans and know very little about everything but pretend to know a lot about all things.
