What an excellent read that touches on the many issues that the organization attempts to conceal! The journalist Mr. David Gambacorta did an amazingly thorough investigation, which revealed how sinister this group can truly be.

This is a good article but the quote about parents holding a wake for a daughter when she was disfellowshipped is inaccurate enough to discredit the whole thing in the eyes of most JWs. Witnesses do not hold wakes, as anyone associated knows, and so including a pull-out box with that kind of quote is really problematic. I wish reporters would check their facts.

Has he been told about Candace Conti and her case or the 34 Million pay out to another two women in Montana?

In the fullness of time if/when govts turn on the wt they are going to have to force jw's to read to look and see with their own eyes the chicanery and the cases of abuse so they can not any longer deny it happened.

Thus following the pattern set by Gen. Eisenhower when a GI camera man was filming in a Nazi death camp. Eisenhower said to the GI.." keep filming, in a few years time no one will believe this happened."

They still don't warn the R&F in halls about pedophiles/criminals or did the cult come clean re/children -- very doubtful.

I think a big part of why PIMIs (who are at least partially aware of the policies) still think everything’s on the up-and-up is that they don’t realize that when the elders who are required to report actually do so, they’re advised to make an anonymous tip from a pay phone, often in a neighboring town.

Most folks don’t realize that (at least until recently) this almost guaranteed that the matter wouldn’t be investigated, because there’d be virtually no substantiating information given with that manner of “tip” (ten bucks says the WT leadership knows, though)...

...essentially following the letter of the law, whilst undermining its spirit, and virtually guaranteeing that the matter is kept internal.
