LDS leader James J. Hamula excommunicated

In a rare action taken by the senior leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a disciplinary council was held for General Authority Seventy James J. Hamula, and he has been excommunicated from the LDS Church.

So this guy seems to be the equivalent of a Branch overseer, or perhaps a District overseer? Not sure the exact JW equivalent.

Well whatever he is in terms of ranking, he is only one of 70 in the whole wide world in the Mormon religion at that level. All very intriguing. They report it wasn't for apostasy or growing weary in faith. Hmmm. Perhaps he has put his "utensils" where they shouldn't go.

I would say he is the equivalent of a "GB Helper". Not tied to any geographic zone (like a branch committee) but also not an Apostle.

I just checked lds.org and there are dozens and dozens of his talks and sermons there!

Just use the search field and put his name in.

He was indeed someone high up!

Interesting that no reason is given, certainly the reason is known, don't they have any nosy "elderette wives" spilling all the info? I guess the LDS crowd are a tight lipped group, SO UNLIKE the Dubs

Yea, right. Maybe he was excommunicated for eating a meal with another excommunicated member...

He was excommunicated for becoming a Jehovah's Witness.

LDS leadership regards "intellectuals" as the greatest threat to their religion. If a high level apostasy scandal was threatened in his case, perhaps he was framed to shame him on a personal matter. With Mormons many females past, modern snooping, that should not be difficult.

would be a great ride, gaining freedom via the escort route!
