re: "I can't answer the question..."
Ok, no problem; perhaps someone new looking in may know of examples.

Hanged Man,
re: "All you need to understand....is the cycle."
To whom is your post directed and what does it mean?
Rstrats, are you looking at this as a smoking gun of discrepancy/error in the bible?
Cuz there is a sh!t load more, and more direct too, if that's the case.
MrRoboto,
re: "... are you looking at this as a smoking gun of discrepancy/error in the bible?"
Absolutely not! And anyway, how would examples show a discrepancy?
Hanged Man,
You have a question directed to you in post #21.

re: "According to Jewish counting there were three days but only two nights. "
But where in your candle lighting example were 3 night times forecast?
rstrats....the cycle is the reason for all of the bible stories....xmas is the end of the yearly cycle and the beginning of the new cycle....the old sun dies on Dec 22nd (winter solstice) and around three days later the new cycle starts....the newborn, weak sun starts its journey around Galilee.....which means "circuit".....it is the story of the sun and the daily/yearly cycle.
Hanged Man,
re: "...the cycle is the reason for all of the bible stories..."
I have absolutely no idea what that has to do with this topic.
Perhaps a further wording will make it more clear.
There are some 6th day of the week crucifixion advocates who try to explain the lack of a 3rd night in the tomb by saying that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language from the period. I am simply looking for any examples which show that it was common to forecast or say that a daytime or a night time would be involved with an event when no part of the daytime or no part of the night time could have occurred.
MrRoboto,
You have a question directed to you in post #23.

re: "All the other stuff you wrote is just Gentile/Christian/Gregorian calendar fluff."
Where did I write anything about Gentile/Christian/Gregorian calendar matters?
