For the past few years all my comments and talks have been a purely Christian message. I tiptoe around WT dogma and focus on the basics of love, life compassion, etc. And I DELIBERATELY do NOT use JW terminology whenever I can. I always substitute alternate words/phrases, including those used more often by the churches. The so-called 'nobodies', the 'amharets' in the congregation love it. I get so much commendation for the content of my talks/comments from the lowly ones in the Hall, especially sisters. But the elders seem to be viewing me with more and more suspicion as I never mention the organization anymore, talk too much about Jesus and forgiveness, and sometimes bring up embarrassing facts about the org's history under various guises. I was taken to the back room and counciled once for mentioning 1925 and 1975. They said, 'You wouldn't air your family's dirty laundry would you? So don't do it to the organization.'
Don't be too Christian, you'll raise red flags

You mean you don't say Jehovah this and Jehovah that at least twice in each sentence? What a breath of fresh air you must be.

No, I'm a Christian, (I take what some call 'mass' privately at home) and as such I use the name Jehovah moderately. The New Testament writers didn't use the Name casually, because Christians are supposed to be adopted as God's sons figuratively. People generally don't call their dad by his first name, it's viewed as disrespectful. So I mostly say God and/or Father.

Should have asked them why Bible talks about sins of David and all the other Bible person.

"What a breath of fresh air you must be.".. indeed.
It used to gall me at conventions when we would be 'Jehovah-ed' to death by self-righteous prayer givers who it seemed tried to out 'jehovah' the last person. I was intending to count the 'jehovahs' in final prayers but never actually did.
Re David and his sins. Hardly a convention passed without this being done over but of course the wts was/is always obsessed with anything sexual.

Why use phrases used by other churches if you are presenting a purely Christian message? It would obviously raise red flags.
Why don't stick just to Biblical terminology?

I used to do the same as you NBD, I even managed to slip in about the membership of the U.N. in what was then a Group Study doing the Revelation book, two Elders were present and looked askance at me, but nothing was said afterwards.
I always used every opportunity to oppose the Bible's misogyny, showing how all females should be treated, and how they were valued in the Christian world of the 1st Century, the "Sisters" nodded and smiled, some "Bros." didn't look too pleased, but could not, they knew, challenge me Biblically.
When I gave Public Talks particularly I always made the subject my own, only very loosely following the WT/JW Outline, just using the subheadings perhaps to talk about, not all of them and not in the same order as the Outline. A couple of times when I had done this as an "away" speaker an Elder would say " I give that talk and did not recognize it as you gave it !" I must have only got good feedback though, as they always requested that I speak there again.
I finally woke up and left, but still do not use JW expressions when speaking with them, and always slip in something that will add to their Cognitive Dissonance !

It's clear WT is neo-Judaism. The recent Memorial talks and a baptism talk I recently heard could have been delivered by a Rabbi... barely a reference to you-know-who.

What I said was: I use words/phrases "including" those used "more often" by the churches. I don't mean words that are unique to other churches, because I think that all denominations are junk. I mean words/phrases that ARE biblical, but JWs still shy away from and substitute with their own in-house lingo that has additional, extra-biblical implications.
For instance:
If I use a JW-ism to refer to a biblical concept, then that brings along other doctrinal baggage into the audiences minds. If I use a new/rarely used phrase, it gives them a fresh start to look at something from scratch.

I did exactly the same upon waking up.

Same happened to me.

Yes. Again the same happened.
The P.O. (Now CoBE), used to sit there head down and shaking it in disgust as I backed up my comments with scripture.
A few weeks and I was out. Never to return to that weirdo cult.
