When its considered how much money Trump spent during his campaign to get into office which was in the millions, is it all surprising that he would try and retrieve some that money back through the power of the office ?
So far he has reduced the tax for the rich 1% which he is a part of, got rid of those pesky environmentalists which he has along standing problem with every time he wants to build a new golf resort.
I think he's doing well for himself and the super rich buddies which he strategically placed into his administration.
Smart business people are just that, savvy and sometimes unscrupulous toward their objectives of creating power and wealth.

One could say Washington has been taken over by Corporate America for awhile and the consequences are just starting to show, maybe some good will come out of it, maybe some bad but nevertheless that's the way it is for now, at least until the next election.

The rich pay the lions share of taxes because newsflash: the tax system is based on percentages!
Anything that benefits anyone at any point in the scale benefits those at the top the most.
This is the same in the US, Canada and most other countries with this type of tax system. It seems a problem with the leftists because they don't understand basic math.
Look at the tax rates, not the $$$.
Whatever tax change is enacted, the bottom earners will see very little change not least because they pay very little tax.
"Take more money off the rich and give it to the poor" sounds great for those who want equality of outcome but that should not be the job of government and it isn't sustainable. A stable government should ensure that the business arena is fair and people are not abusing anything but should otherwise concentrate on spending less of other people's money, not promising that money to others in return for their votes - what is exactly what it is about if anyone was honest.

45% of Americans (over 77 million households) PAY NO INCOME TAX. (Thus the IRS could be dissolved and these 45% of Americans would save ZERO in taxes.)
In fact, 40% of Americans get a refund even though they have paid NO taxes! (Due to the Earned Income Credit) If the IRS were dissolved, they would LOSE their free refund.
Americans who are in the top 20% of income earners pay 87% of all individual income taxes (and 69% of all federal taxes).
The "1%-ers" (top 1% of income earners) pay over 43% of all individual income taxes.
So, yeah, when the Gov't cuts income taxes 1% then your boss is going to save more than you do. But likely he's already paying more in taxes than you earn in the year!

It was not too long ago when a group of 1% ers were asked what would they do if they were given a tax cut in relation to the businesses they own and the majority said not much.
Its just his economic ideology to support and spur on businesses in the US and after all the people who lease offices in his business towers or buy memberships at his golf resorts are the rich and affluent who can afford those memberships.A case of the rich feeding the rich perhaps.
