I'll never forget my uber JW brother telling me that they {WTS} uses the term 'Lying for the Truth'. I was disgusted and he just thought of it as 'Theocratic warfare'.

How do you still follow such nonsense after hearing 'lying for the truth'?

    Like everyone - that it's a LIE!
By the way - isn't truth always truth? If it changes every 3rd tuesday, now can it be truth?
And if today is "truth" what was it yesterday?

It is also SO manipulative! I even have to keep my self from using that word when talking about it.

It makes me want to vomit. But you all already knew that. I don't mean to be mean, but anyone exiting the hate filled cult should quickly evaluate how and why they were attracted to it and/or trapped in it. The special language was one of those indoctrinating, controlling tactics employed by the Dark Lords.

As Punk states, cults develop their very own unique set of words and language with one purpose: to control the rank and file. It is difficult for me to understand how anyone leaving the hate filled cult can not understand that and quickly end use of those 'special' words. But to qualify, to me Patience is a stripper down at the Platinum Club.

The Truth(tm) = Loaded language designed to make you think the watchtower is the correct and only corporation to serve.

I no longer use the term. "The truth" as JW's put it, as it is a capricious entity. I discussed it more in depth on the following thread....

    I'm with Punk ^^^^^.

It is indeed loaded language, used from early on to manipulate people. It instantly puts all other positions in life at a disadvantage, calls them all into question, while deflecting any inclination to question "The Truth". I know it had a powerful affect on me as a rather word literal kid.

I guess it did have an reverse affect later. I realized that it wasn't some beacon of absolute truth and then every outright lie that I came across stung even more. At a point that loaded language can backfire if one is honest and open minded with themselves.

I am told that the Mormons call their delusion 'the truth' too. Can anyone verify this?

Well firstly you should use the correct spelling and pronunciation:

Its The Twuth and not The Truth, you know like Shibboleth vs. Sibboleth. These things are important.

So how do I feel about it? I don't know what The Twuth really means, but if there is such a thing it would seem that the Watchtower corporation is aiming for a point where its furthest from.
