    Trying to separate these acts from the religion is a giant mistake - TBH, I'm getting to the stage where if people want to say that terrorist acts are nothing to do with Islam, I'll accept this so long as governments step up their war against terrorists and bomb them out of existence.

    I agree with you that these attacks do have something to do with Islam but I think we're at the stage where Western governments urgently need to attack the terrorists with extreme prejudice. For me, that has to be the top priority.

    @prologos

    The asylum seeker initially arrested has been released, according to The Guardian and other British newspapers.

    The attacker is feared to be at large, armed and dangerous.

    @prologos - I don't know.

    You'd think that whoever subdued and killed the Polish lorry driver, then drove the lorry for several kms, then smashed into the market and people, would have left his DNA and/or fingerprints for the German forensic people to find.

    Don't be silly. Once ISIS is gone (and they will soon), who will you bomb? This not a country or an army. This is an ideology. This can be your muslim neighbor or a small group in the local mosque downtown.

    This can only be resolved once enough muslim reformers begin playing mental gymnastics to interpret their religious texts in a way that is compatible with modern civilizations, the same way that christians do. Only this continued discussion to force Islam to confirm to modern ethics will do the trick, and this will happen slowly. You and I will be long gone when Islam becomes something you call yourself because it's part of your culture.

    Once ISIS is gone (and they will soon), who will you bomb? - there are plenty more terrorist groups to bomb.

    Only this continued discussion to force Islam to confirm to modern ethics will do the trick, and this will happen slowly - agreed, this will be a long-term thing.

    I was just saying that, for the short-term, the top priority has to be bombing ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Taliban, etc. out of existence.

    The prime suspect sought in the deadly attack on a Berlin Christmas market — a 24-year old Tunisian migrant...
    as the subject of a terror probe in Germany earlier this year and was not deported following his rejection for asylum because Tunisia initially refused to take him back, a senior official said Wednesday.

    I know it's hard to imagine someone belonging to Islam, "the religion of peace", would drive a truck through a crowd, but it turns out its probably going to be just that... again...

    The suspect isn't a surprise, shock horror:

    The suspect was arrested in August with forged documents en route to Italy, but a judge released him, an offical says.
    • Police at one point noticed the suspect because he was looking for a gun.
    • The suspect was known to be in touch with radical Islamist groups, a state minister says.
    • The suspect's asylum request was refused, and deportation was attempted, a German state minister says.
    • German police conduct raids in North Rhine-Westphalia region, a security official says.
    Obvious question: why are we releasing these people? Illegal, known links to terrorism, looking to buy a gun and they let him go? Put him straight in a container and drop it from a plane over ISIS territory.
