Wow, I'm really surprised they're doing this.
I can imagine that their justification is that Mother's Day is pagan-derived, whereas Woman's Day started as a "secular" day rather than having any religious overtones.

I think that printing an article like this is called "condescension." The Borg knows that there is a lot of hype about women in the current news cycle and want to cut down on the feeling of their own women feeling left out.

Printing this article around the time of Women’s Day, while still fresh in peoples minds, is like giving your “worldly” Mother a present a month after Mother’s Day.
