As big a waste of time and resources as big and grand boasting sessions are, they provide the only opportunity for many to scope out dating possibilities. Each time they knock these down, they reduce these opportunities. And now, with zoom, they are obliterating them altogether. There is precisely zero excitement, zero opportunities, zero fun. And still the waste of time.
At least they will not be booking motel rooms and making trips to distant cities for these wastefests. And, once you log out, there will be no more going around strange cities with that embarrassment badge because you can simply take it off as soon as you log off.

The dating pool is likely the worst part. Most of the growth comes from born ins. Finding a mate elsewhere will dilute the growth along with causing a lot to " "fall into sin ".

I would make those zoom meetings fun. I would dress the way I would want to and have interesting backgrounds on my screen. I call that entertainment.

I bet JWs are still getting together in smaller groups - maybe to watch the special assemblies - whatever they're called. Must be hard on the elderly who really need the social aspect of the cult.

In UK socialising face to face in groups is banned by the Government and the Society, so to do so would be disobeying the F &D Slave.... They have a chat session after the zoomed WT ,all virtual of course.
I say long may it continue ! Three cheers for Zoom. It is going to be hell when wife has to back to the hall.
