While many people died young due to disease, violence and poor nutrition, it was not impossible for someone to live to age seventy or more, and in a world where many died young the fact that some did live a long time was probably talked about. These stories were probably passed down by word of mouth for hundreds of years before being written down, no doubt they were embellished a bit in each retelling. If there a real Methuselah he probably only lived to be 85. -

Exact birthday dating and calculating wasn't conducted in the sociological behavior of the ancients with exception to kings or perhaps worshiped gods .
So that has to be accepted in the vein of intellectual honesty.

Each month they celebrated their birthday....960 divided by 12=80 years, hell there were
no calendars 5000 years ago. I still get confused what day and year it is, especially since I'm
retired. You tell me without our watches and calendars, working five days a week, mortgage payment
due on the 1st you think you could figure out your next birthday.

Also noteworthy is the FACT that all of the ancient megaliths around the world ( that cannot be duplicated using modern methods ) and are set on the earth to near mathematical perfection. ( limiting factor is the nature of pi )
Yeah, goat herders did it all.
Stone quarrying, stone machining, and stone moving tent dwellers that forgot to record the details of construction.Uh-huh...

These goat herders believed their great, great great grandfather arrived in the new world
on a boat with all the animals in the world, and a world wide flood just a few years back.
So it's easy to see why they thought old Joe that lived over the hill was a old man
of 500 years.

Kairos says ..... Stone quarrying, stone machining, and stone moving tent dwellers that forgot to record the details of construction.
That they did but calculating individual birthdays and logging them was not a typical behavior with the exception of whom I mentioned previously.
No one in ancient times lived over 100, which happens quite often today.
If there's confirming information to note otherwise please bring it forward.

They seemed to be more interested in the annual movement of the sun, moon and stars ( to mathematical precision ).
This is seen to 99.94% accuracy all over the planet.
But, no, there is no written or hard evidence of people living to ages over 100, 'lett' alone nearly 1000.

Lett alone is nearly 1000? I didn't think he was that old! -

I heard at a convention that there was this "stone" or "sand melted into stone" or whatever, there was this "thing" that clearly was formed in the sand that could only have been formed by nuclear blast. And I read it in an older WTS publication.
Anyway, the location of the "thing" was proof that right there, the battle of Elijah and Jehovah versus Baal and his prophets took place. The very total destruction of their offering to Baal was "consumed" by Jehovah in a nuclear blast. There's no other explanation.
I can't find that "thing" mentioned on the internet from any credible sources. But we could go on and on listing things that are proofs, some may actually exist. But it's all in the interpretation.
Sorry, I don't believe any of it. Not anymore. I will sooner believe there are immortals living among humans, be they aliens from another world or be they superior humans with some kind of magic.
