I LOVED the title you put on this thread, from the theme song to the old "Green Acres" TV show that ran in the 1960's. Very very funny show.

Here's the entire theme song, for those nostalgic people among us:

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide.
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.
    I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

    ...The chores.
    ...The stores.
    ...Fresh air.
    ...Times Square

    You are my wife.
    Good bye, city life.
    Green Acres we are there

Don't miss the Museum of Sex on 5th Avenue (no I'm not kidding!)

The Museum of Sex and St Patrick's Cathedral all in one itinerary...as the previous post said: The best and worst of everything!

I toured London Bethel in the late 80's - and I wore jeans. I don't think they'll let me into 25 Columbia Heights unless I'm in designer duds.

Remember on Green Acres the female character Ralph and her brother Alph. I remember Mr. Haney also. Always the perfect con artist. And Eb, the bumbling handyman? Ahhh, this is bringing back some TV Land memories!

God I wish I was going with you! I love New York! Lincoln Center, a stroll through Central Park, the Frick Museum (excellent), MMOFA, if you have kids (or if you're still a kid ) visit FAO Schwarz - I believe it's on 5th Avenue.

If you're around the Upper West Side, go to Zabar's - have a bowl of soup at their luncheon counter then stroll past the unbelievable selection of cheese, deli meats, coffee, etc.

My mother and I once grabbed some take-out salads from Zabar's (around 80th and Broadway) then walked and window-shopped to Lincoln Centre (around 69th and Broadway), ate our lunch on a bench outside of Julliard's, then toured the Metroplitan Opera (great tour if you're into classical music/opera - you see everything, costume department, how they make the wigs, the sets, rehearsal areas - it's much more comprehensive than even the Vienna Staatsoper).

Geez, now I'm homesick for the Big Apple.
