    Hello

I have a question about the number of publishers reported on the yearbook. I was wondering if this number refers only to the number of publishers baptized or to the overall number of publisher(baptized & not baptized)

    Thanks

both bapt and unbapt. as long as they've been 'approved' by the elders to be publishers, and are turning time in, they're counted

Yes both - thats why its impossible to actually figure out how many witness there are, how many have been DFed. It makes all the stats mirky. A healthy percent of those publishers are young kids.

It's really strange that they don't report the number of baptized people alive at any given time. That would be an interesting number. They do keep records of it at a congregation level, so why not publish it?

The number baptized and alive is probably around 5 million, take out the ones only reporting 15 minutes or so and loose another 500k +.

OK. Thanks for the answers. I was asking this because sometimes I hear sentence like " There are nearly 8 millions of JW around the world", but if someone becomes officially JW after the baptism I thought this would mean that the number of publishers refers only to the baptized ones. Evidently I was wrong :)

I would guess that the number of baptized would be much more than the number of publisher, some that would include all who have ceased reporting time and have faded. In my experience this would be a lot of people.

Memorial attendance is probably a closer number to actual baptised JWs. Its when the irregular and inactive publishers come to the KH.

Even dfd people come to the memorial plus all the submariners, and then some partake when they get home, or also when out on the town. Even the apostles did not got the count right, 11.12 or 13? if you count in Jesus, who did not drink that cup , but if he did he would be the only anointed to do so, the other had an earthly hope, and were served. Remember the count that David did, a costly affair. so, count me out.

Publisher count is flat, partaker count doubles every 10 years. cheers.

Right. Lots of DFd attend. And they are still baptised JWs.
