How have so many been fooled into thinking and believing it’s acceptable for a child to make a vow to serve Jehovah till the day they die?

  • You need to be 15 to obtain your drivers permit
  • You need to be 16 to obtain your drivers license
  • You need to be 17 to watch a R rated movie (alone without a parent)
  • You need to be 18 before being considered an adult
  • You need to be 21 before being able to legally drink alcohol
  • You need to be 25 to rent a car

  *Note - these ages apply to the United States, and even some states may differ, but it applies to my area. Please don’t nitpick, I just want the point to come across.

  Besides these things, the Society encourages everyone to wait till they’re past the bloom of youth before marrying. As we all know, most get married at 18 or shortly after because they are horny AF. The literature will say the person at 18 has no clue what they want, that they are still getting to know themselves and it is a long process. Yet they will trust a 8 year old when he/she says they love Jehovah and this is the vow they want to commit to! How is that even possible? How did all these millions of people get sucked in and believe this is the way it’s supposed to be??

  You may say, the Scriptures back it up, that must surely be why we do it. No! All records in the Bible of any baptism was always to an adult, no infant or child baptism, none! What did Jesus do? He waited till he was 30 years old. How come the Society always encourages us to follow in Jesus footsteps, but they always seem to forget this one glaring thing?

  For all of us who have awoken, we now see it. It has nothing to do with following the Bible, and has everything to do with locking children and their parents in. When these children get to be late 20s or early 30s and start thinking harder about things, they’re stuck. When parents start thinking about leaving, their children are baptized and they are very well aware will be shunned by them. They’re all stuck in and miserable. For the ones that will not tolerate it, they leave and then have to deal with the fallout of shunning.

  It is crazy how the Society go beyond what is written and it’s so harmful to people. How do JWs honestly tell people everything they do is Scripturally based, they lie!!

  i recall seeing a little girl baptized and she was about 9. When she came out to be baptized there was quite a murmur went through the crowd there about how young she was..

  I'm not exactly sure of the wording, but no one under the age of 18 can be bound to a legal agreement or something like that.

  If you are under 18 YO you can not sign a contract. It will not hold up in court. But the cult wants you to pledge your life at 8yo. Fuck this cult. Bring down the walls.

  Even for older ones, since wt determines what "Jehovah" wants, and wt is moving the goal posts all the time, how can one be held to honour to such an open ended contract for life"

  Remember, Jesus at age 30 knew, ( from studying wt publications with a view to the future) that he had only 3 1/2 more years to account for. .

  I remember a young simple minded girl, wich parents were the quite oppositeof well balanced people... Baptised at 9, disfellowshipped at 15, leaving home 1 year later with a bad boy... Very very sad situation.

  Yeah, well, think of how it sounds: “Don’t get baptized because you might find out that the only right way to live doesn’t fit you. You might find out that the God of the universe isn’t quite right for you. Maybe dying a horrible death at the big A is more up your alley. So just hold off on that, think it over...”

  My bet is that a lot of people think it shouldn’t happen, but what can they do? They can’t reason with someone like above.

  And, you are signing up for a lifelong contract to do something that goes as much against nature as taking drugs, with harsh consequences for trying to escape. Unlike drugs, the washtowel is unnatural in every aspect of one's life--not just the areas the drugs affect. In most countries, one needs to be 18 to buy tobacco. To get alcohol, one must be at least 18 in some countries, or 21 in many others (and that's if you can get it at all). The same for weed--usually countries with legal weed set the age limit at 21.

  Another issue is voting. Can a 6 year old vote for something that is going to change in a few years, and that Soros has already decided and will throw out the whole election with its rigging? Then why should that same 6 year old agree, permanently, to do something that will not change, cannot be altered by a third party, and goes against nature in every way? Last I knew, in the USA, one needs to be at least 18 to vote--when their votes will not even count. Can someone that is 12 years younger be mature enough to agree to forsake nature forever, when it will count?

  With the repercussions that JW`s bring on those that fall foul of their expectations and the sanctions and shunning that is a practice in the religion could it be a form of child abuse to subject a minor too in this situation ?
