GB teaching - Gays and Lesbians will be resurrected as Gays and Lesbians

The final talk of the Saturday afternoon online Convention is given by Lett, sporting a creepy looking combover, which for some reason, looks creepier than normal. He talks about how those resurrected will need to come into line with a new moral code otherwise they will be destroyed.

He uses an example of gay people having to turn away from their inclinations even though they may feel that they are perfectly acceptable.

This demonstrates that the GB feel that being gay is a taught behaviour rather than an imperfect unnatural desire, otherwise they would be growing out of that desire as they develop towards perfection, as they teach.

It also means that the GB believe people will be resurrected as male and female with sexual desires. They have not been so clear about this until this Convention talk.

"Now in the case of one raised from the dead to earthly life, the sinful record for which he was condemned to death no longer stands against him. Like one released from imprisonment, he has the opportunity to conform to law. Nevertheless, the resurrected one is still the same human. His death produced no change in him as to personality and sinful inclinations. By resurrection he did not become a perfect human, free from all effects of sin and imperfection inherited from Adam. He was not declared righteous because of dying. As in the case of an ex-convict, he must put forth diligent effort not to succumb to his fleshly weaknesses. He must start in, as it were, where he left off in life and take full advantage of God’s provisions for everlasting life on earth." -- WT 10/1/1974, Questions from Readers, pp. 607-608

So the WT teaches that those who are resurrected will be raised with all the same sinful inclinations and desires they had the moment they died.

This would include not just things sexual but also things like lying, hypocrisy, pride, greed, covetousness, selfish ambition, and the like.

This would seem to me to mean that the millennial kingdom as described by the WT would hardly be a paradise.

In thought that death was the payment to offset sin. Penalty paid with death, sin gone, resurrection a free gift because of Jesus sacrifice. Why would one be resurrected as imperfect, sinful? Makes no sense.

Hold up... Is a Jeehoober going to clone/download, err...I mean resurrect someone who lost all their limbs in an explosion, or someone born with a crippling disease ( JW Pioneer sister who writes with her mouth ) or a JW with MS, or a mental handicap just as they were before Paradise??? Do those people have to “adjust” to Paradise?!?!?!???

Hasn’t the WT officially said that it only makes sense for, let’s say a blind guy missing a leg, to be resurrected with zero defects as that would be horribly unjust? After all, the wages of sin are death. They died, the slate is wiped clean. Whatever imperfection caused their physical issues should be gone.. ( I know, I know, they should be perfect when resurrected if the Bible is true...)

So whether it’s Nature or Nuture, or a combo that makes people gay, it’s Gods fault for allowing the evil that made it possible, so what a dick to raise people back up and have them be gay...

"Third, if Jesus’ words apply to the resurrection to heaven, does this mean that those who are resurrected on earth will be able to marry? God’s Word does not give a clear answer to that question. If Jesus was talking about the resurrection to heaven, then his words do not explain whether resurrected ones on earth will be able to marry in the new world...

We may have many questions about how life will be in the new world. Instead of trying to guess the answers to these questions, we must simply wait and see. But one thing is certain: Those who obey God will be happy, because Jehovah will satisfy all their needs and desires in the best way.—Psalm 145:16."

Thankfully, even though we are not to do our own speculating, the GB shed new light on matters for us. What JWs know now is that people will be resurrected with their genitalia and with the same sexual desires that they had before but they don't know whether they will be able to marry.

Data Dog According to them Jehovah is going to resurrect pedo's with their same desires. I hope they can come up with a better plan of protecting children.

    L. listen: wt taught that this applies to the earthly hope[rs], because Jesus in the quoted text about "not marrying or given in marriage" was talking to people with an earthly hope, with no concept of 144 000 male virgins. so:

Like angels: with no normal or abnormal sexually desires, to be consummated only in married bliss. at minimum,

the so inclined will, at best, be best friends not getting married, as they can now in many places, but not in the NW.

a peak into the "scrolls to be opened"?

    @wannabefree:

that was exatlty my thought, even regarding resurrection of Lazarus and others. Why did they have to die again ? their sins were not forgiven and their resurrection meant that something imperfect was recreated. How does this fit into the idea of an holy God, who cannot even have dealings with imperfect people, only through angels. makes no sense

They have already said that people will be resurrected with their same personality, likes and dislikes. The bible says there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous. So nothing new here, just saying it more clearly. Although funny to hear that someone gay could have 100 years to change their ways lol

So according to to the GB ,in this talk physical ailments such as diseases and loss of limbs etc which the resurrected person had previously in the old world will not be present with the new body in the new system ,however mental and or psychological ailments will still be with them when resurrected ?

If the righteous and the unrighteous are going to be resurrected into the new system ,paradise will be an interesting place to be in ,I think not.
