I’d say another major one is the way they dismiss the many thousands of early Christian martyrs as not being genuine followers of Christ, and therefore not of the 144,000 and going to heaven.
They have to dismiss them in order for their theology to work since there is much historical evidence that many more than 144,000 were martyred. Which makes none of the current GB anointed, if the limit on those going to heaven is to be believed.
The arrogance of that, and the fact only they can properly interpret the scriptures, is probably their greatest delusion.
As far as the name Jehovah is concerned I have to concede that the Roman Catholic Church certainly believed and accepted it, because its written in stone on Centuries old Churches as well as being in the Douay Bible .
As far as the OP goes how about
Counting time in field service?
JW Clergy sponging off the congregations and not earning/ paying their own way ? Especially the top dogs who live very comfortably and their wives also ?
17. That man is not a depraved sinner alienatated from God. This gives rise to a humanistic mancentered worldview where the evil of man becomes a mystery.
18. That "this generation" in Matthew 24:34 does not mean the generation Jesus was manifest in.
That Jesus is a creature and not God in the flesh.
That the Holy Spirit is an “impersonal active force” and not a person.
That salvation is by works (cleaning one’s self up so you can become a Jehovah’s Witness, making sure you put in enough field service hours, meeting attendance, mustering up the willpower to keep yourself morally pure, etc.) - and NOT by grace (alone) through faith (alone) in Christ (alone).
Their teaching that Jesus put an end to the need for his disciples to keep the Jewish Law. That is a profound misunderstanding of Jesus and his work.
I would put the idea that the 66 book compilation is a single, contiguous, harmonious work at the top of the list.
It's not....
Some great additions here.
Jehovah's Witnesses erroneously believe that the Bible teaches:
14. that Jesus did not die a substitutionary death for mankind.
15. that each person's death is payment for sins committed.
16. that foreigners in Israel were excluded from the law covenant.
17. that only 144,000 people have a heavenly calling.
18. that only 8 men in New York are capable of interpreting the scriptures.
19. that only Jehovah's Witnesses are real Christians
20. that only Jehovah's Witnesses have a scriptural hope of surviving the end of the system.
21. that man by nature, is not a depraved sinner alienatated from God.
22. that "this generation" in Matthew 24:34 does not mean the generation Jesus was manifest in.
23. that Jesus is a created angelic being.
24. that Jesus is not entitled to real worship.
25. that the 1914 generation is still with us.
26. that the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force
Great additions guys. Keep em rollin in.
27. that Peter, Paul & Mathew, John are not part of the Faithful and Discreet Slave, because they lived before 1919.
