Wow, interesting to hear that Belgium and Holland finally are on the chopping block also. Ex-bethelites won't find much hapiness in the regular field here (they'd better learn some foreign languages IF they can find the drive). The Netherlands is very secular, apathetic and materialistic. Growth has stopped since the 70's. JW numbers are stable, in spite of population growth.

Apparently the mainstream Dutch media are having a wow of a time commenting on the latest Caleb and Sofia video!
some sort of enquiry is supposed to be commissioned....
so it's probably wise that the society clears out of the country before all of that happens!

I really don’t see the big problem in the closing of the branch offices. The data revolution has simplified so much that the same amount of people as earlier are not required any more. You can’t have a Bethel where half the staff is cutting the hair of the other half, and why is it that grown ups can’t prepare their own breakfast or make their own beds? The things I do at work today required tens of people a couple of decades ago. Sentimentality would ask for a branch close to where you live - but the WT never was much into sentimentality.
