Certainly not, Matty! We have many non-gay ACB supporters. In fact, while I was toning down the colors of the message board, I added a new forum for straight friends (not that you're not welcome to post on all the boards, though).

By the way, next week, we're having the 5th international ACB conference in New Orleans. The conference web site is at: http://www.geocities.com/acbconference4/ - All exJWs are welcome to attend.

Fixes what? Ummm....I don't think so. I am not mechanically inclined, but if you need stuff broken....

    Welcome back Jim.

I was reading your story and found it interesting. The part when you say your student laugh a little louder was hilarious.

But what a surprise I had when I clicked this link http://www.gayxjw.org/censor.html and read about the picture of the knowledge book.

So you believe that the picture of same-sex folks embracing is subliminal? What a stretch of imagination, Jim.

No doubt when JWs go to that site and see the link above think 'Ahh, now I know why this guy was disfellowshiped'. No wonder.

Jim, tell me you don't believe that, please. These guys took many years of your life from you, but don't allow them to take away your sanity.

    Here is the "offending" picture:

To be honest, yes I do believe the picture is subliminal - it is all a matter of perception, and who is viewing the illustration. If you are heterosexual, I have no doubt that you would find the above statement a stretch of the imagination. However, as a gay man, I believe the concept is much easier to grasp. The first time I saw the illustration, it reminded me of a scene from the gay-themed movie "Long Time Companion" much more than a Watchtower publication.

Furthermore, the sublimation in the illustration may have been deliberate. I can neither confirm nor deny the sexual orientation of the illustrator, because I have no idea who the illustrator was. However, considering the number of ex-Bethelites who are a member of A Common Bond, as well as private correspondence I've received from gay men who were at Bethel, I would not be at all surprised if the illustrator in fact is gay, and deliberately illustrated same-sex couples embracing.

    On a different topic:

    Outnfree asked:

I looked New Milford up on the map, and it would be about a three hour drive for me. That's not to say I wouldn't make the trip to meet other exJWs, though....
