Drama is about avoiding materialism. GB has $10k watch in one of the videos.

He's wearing an Armani suit, the jacket alone is $2.2K (you can recognize it by the slanted pocket).

The watch does look like a gold Apple Watch or a really good fake, the problem is that most fakes are significantly thicker (because the cheaper electronics don't fit).

Forget the watch, why can't this imbecile invest in a decent looking tie?

Cappytan did a nice youtube video with the title "Would Jesus wear a Rolex on JW Broadcasting?" It would be fun to see that inserted on the program at the RCs.

How can you know what the watch costs? And isn't materialism the love of money and not money itself?

Talk about trying to over analyze every little thing. Geesh. It could be a $50 dollar watch. Unless you have the receipt it's kind of inane and childish to just throw that out there.

A good view of another GB member's watch was obtained some time ago. I recall posters here who had studied the images to compare to the real thing, confirmed then it was a real top-of-the-line Apple watch. GJ's images don't really show much other than color and thickness.

Mad I is correct that it isn't having expensive items that is necessarily wrong, but more the obsession and showy display. The conflict is, WT council is always to simplify, be modest and not put-on a showy display of ones means of life. That implies, even if a person can afford whatever they want, they are to be modest and discreet in their choices.

As Jesus did not have a place to lay his head, the GB members as 'Christ's Brothers' and the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave', should be setting an example in modesty. Even if it is a knock-off, it portrays the illusion of being expensive and is therefore, not simple, modest or discreet.

    ^ditto.

We were counseled not to wear designer jeans in the 80s because it would stumble others! Dubs aren't supposed to have certain automobile makes, expensive houses, etc. even if they can afford them because of the same issue.

The suit pictured in the photos on Page 1 of this thread has a striped lining. According to this, it isn't Armani.

I'm trying to figure out the top button -- is it an Ermenegildo Zegna suit? Pockets on these suits are also slanted and the button looks familiar not that all Zegna suits have the same button.

I seriously doubt the man would sport a knock-off watch -- they have plenty of chunk change for their trinkets.

Is he wearing a Burberry tie? If not -- it's a 'wanna-b' Burberry tie. I've not seen that exact one this season but whatever.

I don't see what the problem is. Are they leading The WATCHtower or not?
