  Watchtower January 2017 - Par. 15 - "We live in exciting times. The earthly part of Jehovah’s organization is growing in many ways, but growth necessitates change."

  Apart from the org's bank balance, where is the growth? Every aspect of the WTBTS has contracted - Branch offices, full time J.W.'s, Kingdom Halls, meetings, assemblies, magazine production, literature production, talking to people about the Bible. (trolley-zombies rarely talk!)

  The org's sense of reason has also contracted!

  Repeat a myth often enough and some people might believe it.

  Yep. Frustration and discontent are growing. Awareness of and embarrassment at the flawed nature of the Governing Body is growing.

  Liability and willingness to bring Watchtower to court is growing and the mass of disenfranchised, apathetic and ready-to-leave Jehovah’s Witnesses is certainly growing.

  The Watchtower is only following in a growing trend really. Religion is no longer a priority in our busy lives.

  I see the WT's spin doctors are hard at work. There's only so long you can say all is well and everything is rainbows and kittens before people start seeing that you're full of crap. There are delusional types who will keep believing it and less delusional ones who will stick with it because it would be too devastating to admit, even to themselves, that they've been duped and taken advantage of.

  It's a bit premature to call decline yet.

  As far as I'm aware the latest figures still show increases in publishers, pioneers, congregations, and probably some other figures.

  Where they have stalled is memorial attendance in recent years, and branch numbers are in decline.

  Maybe publisher numbers will start decreasing in the next couple of years. That would be real decline. But then they might not publish the numbers if that happens.

  The Searcher, if you look closer at their words, in no way, shape or form they are saying that they are gaining more converts. They clearly say "is growing in many ways", so gaining new people may not be included in the "many ways" in which they are growing.

  They aren't lying because they are growing financially, especially now that they are in the business of real estate.

  Also, consider that they are in fact growing in numbers in undeveloped countries with little or no access to the Internet.
