The constant focus on secrecy is bizarre. "For the love of all that is holy, do NOT let people see this literature that we will be handing to them a few days later!"

For me it is more than obvious why es24 and w24.01 are confidential until October 20. It's about the 2024 yeartext, which has not yet been announced. Arguably the Governing Body will announce the scripture for 2024 in their next video update (2023 Governing Body Update #7), and that is apparently scheduled for an October 20 release.
The more subtle reason is loyalty. Oversight wants to make sure the brothers are loyal to the organization (and by extension to Christ and Jehovah themselves), and such occasions are perfect to test the loyalty of the brothers in the congregation.

Let's irritate the hell out of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses! Does anyone know what the 2024 Year's Text is going to be...or does anyone have the means of finding out?
Once we find out we all can make a concerted effort to plaster it all over the damn place on social media!
