Don't Feel Like I Have Much In Common With Anyone I Know

Went out with my family and all they talked about was how terrible Trump is and how he'll surely bring the great tribulation. Then they started going on about people supporting Trump showing that America is becoming racist. I don't consider myself a trump supporter but I disagreed that that was the reason why he won. I also felt it hypocritical that they would say these things and still consider themselves "politically neutral", what a joke! My own personal belief is that all of this will settle down and life will go on. Right now doesn't seem like anyone wants to hear that.

I'm a left-leaning centrist and registered Democrat and I agree with you.

They obviously would like to see that happen. And when you're outside looking in, that is kind of messed up.

I don't think he's a racist but he has a lot of racist supporters

(generally not being too bright they think he's one of them)

The immigration order I think is more the idea of hunting for a fly in your

    house with an Elephant Gun

It seems every time some new leader gets in any where who has more than custard for a back bone the jw all start going' "ooh here it comes." All countries are racist to one degree or another.

Regardless of any political view I have, JW_Rogue, it is true that many JWs claim that they aren't part of the world and not involved in politics, but many do have opinions and feel happy when candidates they believe in (and many that I know do believe in candidates) win. Same thing with many other things that are supposed to be "wordly".

The not having things in common with them, I think, may be a larger issue (just my opinion).

they talked about was how terrible Trump is and how he'll surely bring the great tribulation

..and JWs are delusional poorly educated idiots for most part, their secular awareness is established via the fear mongering of the Watchtower Corporation. in other words any social upheaval becomes identified as this is it, the GT is close at hand.

JW`s are continually looking for negatives in science, religion, politics, conflicts, etc, etc. to validate their belief that the end is just around the corner.

They have been doing it for over 100 years now and they will keep on doing it while they still exist as a religion.

In the meantime life goes on and JW`s are born and die like the rest of us in this system and will do so for evermore. Rom.13:1-7 which contradicts 2Cor.:4-4

Its kind of too bad that JWS and other religions don't accept and acknowledge the fact that the Book of Revelation is fictional ancient mythology.

I think most fundamentalist christian sects lean towards the right wing. Even among a lot of exJWs, right wing tendencies seem the norm.

Given that much of the Bible is extremely right- wing, it's not surprising that many lean that way. The love and empathy shown by Christ is only given lip service, and even then, only to ones like themselves.
