The omicron variant is the rapidestestest spreading now. BUT it has the mildest symptoms. Still worried about delta here.

I still either can't get it or gave had it without knowing take your choice. Booster # 3 is 2 weeks wait when I call but news says it is easily available. Meantime people who have had the boost are either sick, no affect, or in between. Doc tells me to figure at least 2 days in bed

Statistically one 1 old man passing is insignificant. But again, I am very significant to a dozen or so people. Most of us will die with the exception of true believers

I dont need to go looking for tenuous statistics in far-flung countries...

Now, now. You're heading down the road of Trump's "sh**hole countries" speech. Hilarious, but not compelling.

Actually, New Zealand is considered the most "far-flung" country in the world by its own government.

    https://teara.govt.nz/en/map/2639/a-far-flung-country

To most of the world, Australia is a pretty "far-flung" continent, while Africa is described as "the cradle of civilization."

    Definition of far-flung:

    /ˈfär ˈfləNG/adjective: far-flung
    didistant or remote.

Your chart also shows cases coming down as more people get vaxxed

No, it shows cases going up.

And here's the lie: the vaccine really does NOTHING to prevent infection or spread. It's more of a therapy than a prophylactic.

Which then leads to the 2nd lie: vaccine passports make sense. The vaccinated are the people who have spread and kept this virus going, yet are treated as heroes. They are given a license to spread, undoing all the hard work of those who isolated.

The 3rd lie is that the vaccines are totally safe: massive numbers of heart attacks and collapsing footballers show this is clearly not true.

The final lie is that we need to keep having the vaccine shots: this is going to make the affect of the risk go up further, especially for those who are at little risk from the disease.

Right now the best option IMO seems to be to find the mildest version with lowest health risks, which may be Omnicron, and try to import it.

Then continue limited contact when possible but use rapid testing to isolate people when required in order to limit the numbers infected at once while building up herd immunity. Those infected can be given the treatments since developed.

Finally a special court, similar to Nuremberg, should be convened to try Fauci and the others behind the creation of this virus and any execs of pharmaceutical companies who falsified clinical data for profit. If found guilty, they should be executed.

Brock, thx for the geography lesson.

I'm just a little tired of people trying to prove that only ivermectin works by citing 'proof' from countries where reporting is hard to quantify, when all they have to do is take note of their lived experience in their home country.

How many times do we have to hear about an Indian state called Uttar Pradesh beating the virus with ivermectin only? Even if all they actually used was ivermectin, anecdotal evidence, even from doctors is not good enough to prove anything. It's like most other viral sicknesses, some will recover regardless of treatment, some will die regardless of treatment and some will fall in between the two.

Simon, speaking from my experience right here in Australia, the number of cases have come down. Apart from Melbourne, Australia is virtually covid free. Sydney has beaten the delta wave with lockdown and vaccines. Im not sure why you insist that isn't the case by saying the figures don't show that.

when all they have to do is take note of their lived experience in their home country.

Didn't you watch the video at the start of this thread? The WHO has summed up the entire world's collective "lived experience" and it does not speak well to the efficacy of the vaccines at all.

Even if all they actually used was ivermectin, anecdotal evidence, even from doctors is not good enough to prove anything.

Again, just Google Uttar Kadesh covid death rate to see the CHART that proves the point. COVID deaths stand at ZERO right now for this country that has a population of 204 million, which is 70% the size of the United States of America and FOUR TIMES the population of Australia.

This is actual data dude, not anecdotal evidence. You explain to ME how that Indian state got to ZERO COVID deaths when non-far-flung countries like yours (and mine) are still struggling.

It sure looks like the countries that have the least vaccination and lockdowns have ultimately done best.

You can't judge the winners until the end of the race. Some countries seem to be planning on running round the track forever-more.

Dozy you gave an excellent explanation which was based upon the demographics of Africa.

Oops. My bad. I wrote that paragraph too hastily. You're on the right track though, thanks for keeping me honest.

When I researched it properly, it turns out that the single state of Uttar Pradesh (the world's largest subdivision of a country, India, which is the world's largest democracy) has actually 9.39 times the population of the entire continent of Australia.

Doing whatever Uttar Pradesh did would essentially eradicate COVID from nine and a half Australia's.

But, hey, I guess these people don't count because they're too "far-flung"...
