You are correct, that any similarities are dwarfed by the differences- Linus created a massively successful business, which has probably fed his ego and led to overextending himself and creating the controversy that he is dealing with now.

  Lloyd created a channel and skipped past the success part and straight to being a controversial character whose ethics and reliability are being questioned.

  For me, as a minimum he'd have to agree to have no further involvement with CSA issues - the gross hypocrisy is just too much. His behaviour is the tar we'll all be brushed with in the eyes of any JW who comes across him. I'm amazed WT haven't made coded references to him yet.

  He'd also need to apologise for the divisions he's caused thanks to his bullying, egocentric behaviour.

  How many activists have given up in the face of his aggression or not even started because he's sucked up all the oxygen in the room?

  He'd also need to apologise specifically and individually to Kim and the others he smeared as "criminal defendants". Also to Kim & Mikey for doxxing them (no doubt there are others but I simply don't have all the information). I can't imagine the stress levels he's inflicted on anyone who got in his way.

  And I suppose he'd need to actually ask us to forgive him.

  They get paid a fee for being interviewed, so unfortunately they may not care.

  I can't imagine Lloyd EVER paying anyone for an interview on his channel. Lloyd would think that it would be a privilege for them to just be on his channel and doing them a favor for the publicity he would be giving them.

  Negotiating with Lloyd Evans is like trying to negotiate with North Korea. The difference being Kim Jong Un will publicly smile and shake your hand when he meets you in the DMZ. Lloyd is too much of a pussy for that. As much as we feel LE has done us and many others wrong, in his own warped mind we have done him a whole lot worse, plus add in the fact he hasn't killed anyone and no baby seal cubs were bludgeoned.

  I dislike forced apologies and certainly desire none from him. I want the grift to stop. Quit enriching yourself off the backs of janitors and window washers whose families shun them. But this is not happening as he currently has a functioning business, as flawed and unsustainable as it may be.

  We keep the pressure on him, place the information out there where people can access it, and force him into begging cycles. With the global recession lurking, people are going to have enough of their own problems and propping up a disgraced and discredited YTer who's always asking for money is going to really rub a lot of people the wrong way. Many YTers are doing just fine with videos with a small fraction of what he pulls in and this is becoming more and more obvious as these post-begging video months drag on.

  These court docs will make for some very interesting entertaining reading for exJWs. We're dealing with a complete clown here. Let's watch as he gets run over by a pony and dragged.

  100%. Professional academics such as Dr. Richard Carrier and Dr. Bart Erhman absolutely demand an appearance fee for interviews.

  I know because I've helped raise money to get them for other channels. It's possible lesser known academics may not charge if they're promoting a book or something, though it's doubtful. It's how many of them make a living.
