Does anybody remember what video I can find JLE wearing this stupid hat?

Newly Enlightened, Lloyd's live stream video has been age restricted and is only available on YouTube.

    What in the world?

Was there something on it inappropriate for children?

    Surely not!

I mean, look at the photo above. It just oozes "appropriate for children!"

NCC What is Roman law and how is that applicable to today?

Roman law is essentially the law practiced in Europe, as opposed to common law which is practiced in the UK*. "The main difference between the two systems is that in common law countries, case law — in the form of published judicial opinions — is of primary importance, whereas in civil law systems, codified statutes predominate".

*Scotland has a separate legal jurisdiction with its own courts. In general, the Scottish legal system is a hybrid of common and Roman law, brought mainly via Dutch & French legal influences.

The U S is also generally follows English Common law, the exception is Louisiana, which follows French (Roman?) law.

The US does not have an extradition treaty Croatia.

Until you start getting letters from lawyers in your own country I wouldn't worry too much.

I still have questions about JLE's finances.

Okay, so it is a little like how the State of Louisiana has a slightly different system based upon the French vs. the rest of the USA that uses more of an English system.

If Roman Law was used to craft that ridiculous letter for JLE, then the Roman system is very dumb. Comparing what Kim Silvio wrote to what Karlo Novosel wrote is striking.

Another charming detail to come out. After getting caught visiting sex workers, he got his wife to agree “a non monogamous relationship”, but she changed her mind after one day’s reflection. In typical fashion he was outraged that she changed her mind and it was in this victimhood mentality that he declared a mental health crisis, abandoned his wife and daughters at Christmas, and flew to Thailand to get to know the locals. What a truly horrible person—worse than I ever imagined. No wonder his supporters are abandoning him in droves.

Not just that, he tells someone else about their personal business, and appears to imagine it makes him the "poor victim" as you said.

Quite incredible the controlling & manipulating behaviour he displays over and over again.

What’s become of the police investigation? I’d like to know. How long does it take to investigate stuff like this? Is there even enough evidence or solid, credible (to law enforcement) allegations for any official police investigation? Who/where are the victims? Or, has this just boiled down to a defamation back-and-forth now? Even his so-called legal sabre-rattling letter seems dodgy at this point.

Is this going to end up a big wet fizzled out nothing burger?

I don't know how many pages back it was, but I predicted a kind of stalemate where there isn't enough solid evidence plus the lack of a known victim (as far as I'm aware) to justify launching some international investigation, or to put off all subscribers (jeez, what does it take?!), and that what would likely happen is he'd just try to carry on as though it hasn't happened, which appears to be his intent (a flurry of video release).

The sabre-rattling of the lawsuit threats seems like an attempt to try and silence people from criticizing him in future and to scrub the public record of what has gone one, I imagine so he could then remove his own statements and gaslight people that it didn't happen and he can resume trying to rebuild his money-making audience with people put-off from commenting on them to warn others about his behavior.

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think there is any legal case here that anyone has to answer to, it's all frankly laughable and the more that comes out about it the more it all seems to be the product of a chancer who's made the mistake of believing his own narrative he's been telling everyone about what a victim he is.

Worth noting too, I think his plan is to deliberately conflate the two separate things - the allegations about grooming and the behavior he has admitted to publicly, and to have all of it removed and people make blanket statements that everything is false. I've only seen people report that the grooming accusations have been made, AFAIK the only person who has made actual accusations is supposedly some relative of his, which is who he should be going after if it is untrue as he claims. The rest, what he actually said himself, is there for everyone to see and his own admission makes his claim that they are lies kind of weak beyond belief (which any decent lawyer would have told him, but maybe he wasn't completely forthright with them about the full situation?). This IMO is why the threatening letters are so vague, and not itemizing anything specific.

So I don't think there will be any real definitive closure to this, it will just rumble on, with more people being threatened with being "added to the lawsuit".

But someone could get seriously hurt laughing at him so much.

Way back when he first declared his “mental health crisis”, as a cover for abandoning his family and holidaying Thailand, he claimed that he was receiving therapy, but it’s hard to see how he fit it in, what with disappearing to Thailand straight away. Did he ever actually see a therapist? I don’t want to be too naïve here in asking whether he actually told the truth about something. But people with narcissistic personality disorder rarely do attend therapy, because they don’t truly believe there is anything wrong with them. I just wonder if he actually went through with any kind of therapy or it was lies all the way. I guess we’ll never find out because who would know and can be believed? Not him.
