That supposition is incorrect. Jehovah actually has an older brother, Jeffrey God, who is truer, bigger, stronger and more threatening. Whereas Jehovah God is depicted in JW publications as feeling sad when JW children do something wrong, Jeffrey God snarls and hisses when JW children do something wrong.

Take your pick.

Core teaching----obediance to the GB, attendance at the KH (because that's where the contribution boxes are) and you can have the hope of everlasting life. That's the product they sell. It's religion that makes the fraud possible. As simply as that.

Actually the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses is not biblical. Every single doctrine which is unique to Jehovah's Witnesses is in fact, extra-biblical.... and that includes the entire foundation of Watchtower authority.

I find it interesting that the Watchtower accepts the Bible Canon as suggested by the Trinitarian Athanasius and later agreed to by the Church in the 4th century.

Not that there is one agreed "The Bible". Consider the range of views by the Church Fathers, the canons of the 4th Century codices, or modern canons such as the Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Syrian, Ethiopian, etc., etc.

There was no canon of Hebrew Scriptures in the first century and the NT writers quoted from the range of LXX versions available to them plus writings that were later not canonised (1 Enoch, etc., etc.).

No one knows what was initially written (the autographs) as the text underwent innumerable deliberate and accidental changes. Hence scholars created the term "inscripturation".

The Watchtower changed the text to suit its purposes. In doing so, the Watchtower is continuing the practice that has taken place ever since the texts were initially written thousands of years ago.

Only the Roman Catholic Church has formally voted on the Canon. Protestants accept their Canon on the basis of Tradition.

It is true that JWs sort of believe in sola scripture. Where they differ from the Protestant tradition is they do not believe that correct interpretation of the Bible is available equally to all. For example the October 1st Watchtower 1994 was about the role of the Bible, and included a box titled: "Channel to Understanding the Bible". In this box it states: "All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the 'greatly diversified wisdom of God' can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave." (Page 8) This seems to be at odds with the Protestant idea that a right understanding of the Bible text is available to all believers unmediated by any church authority.

On the canon of scripture accepted by JWs. I think there is a good argument to be made that Origen listed the Potirpestant canon over a hundred years before Athanasius. Origen was a subordinationist and arguably better aligned with JW Christology.

The history of the WT is not one of sola scriptura.

For example, Russell based a lot of his chronology on pyramid measurements rather than on Bible prophecies.

As another example, at one point the WT banned organ transplants as cannibalism. Where is that in the Bible?

Sola Governing Body would be far more descriptive.
