I remember when the new songbook came out about 6 or so years back and I thought to myself, "This sucks! This is like some bad off off Broadway musical." And the new songs since then have only gotten worse.

Of course, when you are in, you cannot say that. A pioneer told me that she'd found the new songbook challenging, but she basically listened to the new songs nonstop and concentrated real hard. Eventually she loved the new music!

As if there is a choice. I remember in regard the old songbook, a subheading or an article that directed, "Enjoy those songs!" The Watchtower basically directs that an act of will be directed on liking whatever they dish out.

The thing that makes my skin absolutely crawl is when they make a comment that just seems to be for troll value or making a mockery of the bible. For example.

“We need to be one in purpose with the faithful slave just like when Jesus said he is one with his father”

I don’t know how many so called studies we have had that just focused on verses that are only found in the NWT. Once you are awake, it almost seems like some supernatural evil force seems to be present with the whole religion being rooted in mockery of Jesus. ( and I am not exactly Ned Flanders either ).

As for the music...................................... I have no idea how they don't get sued by Disney.

I play an acoustic guitar and can appreciate the musicianship of the societies orchestra, and to be fair they are very good. The level of musicianship is extremely high however, it's a pity that their talents aren't put to better use playing in orchestras where they can be acknowledged and appreciated. It's a shame really.

To clarify, I am not referring to the actual "kingdom songs" sung at the meetings.... (although they are bad enough)

I am referring to those Music Videos shown at the end of each month's broadcast...

They are simply mind snappingly bad....

Divergent, I enjoyed both videos. I love Hillsong and Bethel music! Thanks for posting them. It's the difference of day and night from the awful clunkers at the Hall.

@SomeDUDE, LOL! I remember the main singer guy had this thick voice, sort of like he was trying to sing like Jim Nabors but could never measure up to that level. Like those people who audition at American Idol, think they are singing but they stink! I thought at first that it had to be a joke! It was so bad, made me feel embarrassed for the singers.
