Crazyguy: Sanchy, is this the last talk that he says this?

haha..I somehow doubt it. I can see them now in the 2040 "Right Around the Corner" conventions: "Evidently, we can reasonably conclude that it appears likely that logically we can say that no more bible prophecies are left to be completed before the impending GT"

no chance that I could sit back and watch two hours of that mind numbing crap but their dishonesty continues to astonish and amaze.

The KM PRAISED Witnesses for believing in the 1975 time frame. Revisionist history!!! Fake news!

During the concluding talk at the Long Beach, CA convention a gb helper made the comment that it would an "extreme view" to take Jesus' word about the good news being preached 'in all the inhabited earth' literally. He went on to say that most likely not all will hear the good news! "New lite"?

You just can't make this sh*t up!

    just saying!

    eyeuse2badub,

Nope, not new light. For years they have cited Matt. 10:23, the last part, "you will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives," with the application that not all will hear the preaching work. So it's really nothing new. The Matt. passage is, of course, pretty cryptic.

    BUGBEAR:

The ones you speak of who sold everything they had back before '75 and went north in a caravan and who were held up as a good example - where are they today?

Well, they'd have to start all over again! Since that was over 40 years ago and the economy was still okay, hopefully they achieved much of what they lost and learned some HARD lessons about how not to listen to foolishness spouted by religionists.

I joined after 1975 and not a word was mentioned to me about this massive failure of theirs. Thankfully, I ignored their bullshit and held onto MY job.

I hope history doesn't repeat itself but sadly there will be gullible Witnesses who fall for the old "sell your stuff, quit your job and pioneer."....

and if you go our friend google for jehovahs witnesses 1975 there is stuff there to see. do a bit of fishing around and you will find it.

I have seen also extracts of publications where the wts has praised people who are selling up for doing so.

    warm regards

A bunch of copy-and-paste kiss-asses managed to get into the governing body and have no good ideas. The lawyers and accountants run the shots and then the kiss-asses discover video. They relish the idea of the good old days where Russell, Rutherford, and Fred Franz were the hot shit. These guys will tweak whatever doctrines the lawyers and accountants don't stop them from tweaking.

And they have no clue why recruiting is not working at all. So they get another idea- talk about the mistakes of the past. They probably were turning to "apostate" web pages to see what "we" were saying and decided to start pumping out replies. But their replies are the same-old-story, that it's members' faults. They hope that there's enough younger blood or cognitive dissonance among members listening to say "Yeah, those members back then. It's their fault. Not mine."

Double speak better than in George Orwell's novels

    • People who lived the failure of 1975 and thought they have been deceived used their heart
    • People who continued in the truth after the 1975 failure used their head.
