I gave the explanation. It's literature. It is a common desperate last resort to attempt to find an alternative meaning behind words in the Bible to retain belief in it as more than a simple book. To ignore the obvious intent of the authors to make the text accomodate our modern understanding of the world is doing the book a disservice as the symmetry and poetry of the writing is distorted and twisted into a worldview never held by the authors.
