Most I know around here are left leaning with out admitting it.

A friend who lives in a higher socio/economic area seems to have people who are right wing. Except he likes biden.

True, Pollsters start with a conclusion then frame their questions.

Loyal JWs can be quite susceptible to conspiracy theories, 'cause it doesn't much retconning to make 'em fit with WT eschatology, and the Org primes the membership to be suspicion of secular authority already.

    Know how I know?

    Cause that was me.

In fact, it wasn't until I actually watched one of Alex Jones' videos that I actually stopped short.

I'd always read his stuff whilst imagining him speaking in a concerned, measured tone like Ted Koppel...

...imagine my surprise when I actually heard Jones' spittle-flecked over-the-top ranting, and realized, "Holy shit, this guy's a fucking loon."

Having grown up and worked with "worldly" people in the Silicon Valley, I was a little amused with some of the world views of Bethel residents while I was there. Many were VERY afraid of "worldly people", and would have had no problem believing " the main threads of QAnon’s core theory are that a network of Satan-worshipping pedophiles control the government and media,". I found the underground passages, backup generators, and lockdown procedures amusing....much like the removal of all windows in Kingdom Halls some years ago, and the new "compound" at Walkill.

'it is easier to fool people than convince them they have been fooled'.

I would never blindly believe anything Q-anon or anyone else says, and I’ve never seen their website, but we do have a Political party with an agenda that includes defending those who are sexualizing children and bypassing parental rights.

Corporations and the Legacy Media are in bed together, with members of Corporations sitting on the boards of Media outlets.. Fat chance getting an unbiased and true journalistic report form those clowns. They repeat what their handlers tell them….

I’m not sure about a “Storm” getting rid of “Elites” but there are many Millions of people who believe in the level of freedoms that the US was founded upon. Those people are getting tired of being abused, and the last 2 1/2 years of hypocrisy and abuse of power in the Government, Media, and Corporations have made “Patriots” out of people who were willing to live and let live.

“it is easier to fool people than convince them they have been fooled'.

Yep, CNN and their ilk base their business models on the above. The problem for them is that it’s not impossible to convince people they have been fooled and once they know….

    Two things occur to me.

1 Only American JWs buy into this surely? So the percentages given aren't for worldwide membership.

2 Reading stuff ( admittedly on social media of different kinds ) l have wondered about a second civil war breaking out . This thought is based on the deep political , racial, religious and economic divides in America.

Now reading the Qanon stuff about , " patriotic Americans " it seems more likely when a fair proportion of the population take this seriously.

Am l very wrong in thinking that there is a chance even that armed conflict could break out in the USA?

Sincere question from someone who finds all this perplexing and worrying.

Really ? Gosh l thought that Aussies had more sense . Do you mean Australian JWs ?

I wonder how widespread this is ? Certainly the average Brit has probably never even heard of QAnon .

Why is it that "millions of people who believe in the level of freedoms that the US was founded upon" and are "getting tired of being abused, and are sick of the last 2 1/2 years of hypocrisy and abuse of power in the Government, Media, and Corporations" being so freely branded as QAnon believers or conspiracy theorists?

If believing in the ideals that America was founded on, believing in the rule of law, believing in hard work being rewarded rather than penalized, believing in family, believing in the science of DNA and the list could go on much longer makes a person a QAnon believer or conspiracy theorist than I will proudly wear those labels. I had enough of blindly following the crowd as a PIMI JW and refuse to blindly follow the current WOKE agenda!
