It was a part of CLAM Living at Christians the week of 9/12-18...A video: Jehovah has done so much for me. I think it was worldwide, but the video is of a sister who was sexually abused before she came into the org., but the sister and video was in Australia.
Maybe all the congregations didn't show the video....but it was in the Meeting Workbook for everyone. It wasn't in yours ?

Slight off topic but does anyone else have the urge to laugh whenever they see CLAM? And Meeting Workborks? That's something grade schoolers do. Wow. This cult has really dumbed down from what it was 15 years ago.

Once I pointed it out....innocently....I showed them the first letter of the Meeting workbook. Then I said Clam...then turn to digging for gems...then I said...like Kingdom Ministry/KM...they just smiled...I told another one...it just didn't register...do they really think that calling the meeting workbook CLAM, that God cares about that? Yep, I do...As soon as a brother/FDS, says it...they'll think it's so clever...
But you know what, they know...the silence of certain issues lets gives me the clue...there is always an elephant in the room...& when they may not agree, they clear their throat...or cough...dead giveaway...The know about the ARC, only because it's not a peep about it. I'm learning to observe the friends posture & reactions...even if they don't say a word...there are many that know it's CLAM, but don't want to blow their cover that they know TTATT.
They claim they are making the literature easy for folks to understand because of the many foreigners that are coming in....Who said foreigners are dumb...many of them are way more educated then the JW's. Many of them speak different languages...
I have heard many who have been in for a long time say, THINGS HAVE REALLY CHANGED.

I don't have the opportunity to look at "my" Meeting Workbook. I don't get one. Nor want one. I would just have expected to hear a comment from my elderly mother who still attends because the Child Abuse issue has been real earthshaking for her. She hammered down hard on all of her Catholic relatives over the child abuse issue there, and now it's come back to haunt her in her own Spiritual Paradise. She has quit donating as she doesn't want her money going to pay for lawsuits.

Oh, ok...Your Mom knows about the Child Abuse ? Wow. I think many have too, but like your mom they pointed a finger at other religions & so now they are eating crow....to me this is the real reason most of the friends don't talk about it...because someone they know or don't know will say, Hey you guys thought it was only the Catholics, but I see it's in your org. too.
That has to be hard to have your own words come back to bite the in the behind...I wonder will the Society ever confess & just take their medicine...but look how long it took for the Catholics to be exposed...I bet they fought tooth and nail just like the JW's are doing...Good for your Mom for not donating...
I'm so happy I know ttatt....it's so freeing to go into the hall, & know that....I love this site...as I always say, for those who are still in, it gives a place to go so we don't think we are spiritually weak, & we can vent...'til we get the nerve to not be afraid of man...& leave...

How strange, considering you have a computer. They are easily downloadable or readable from jw.org. And by the way - the video in question was shown worldwide.

Old Hippie, you're confusing me for someone who really gives a sh!t. I'm past the time that I still read every WT publication to "prove" they are wrong and my exit is "right". I'm not going to waste the 5 minutes it would take to download their CLAM CRAP. My interest is limited to how it affects Mom. She's in her 80s and is waking up, but I see no need for her to abandon her network of Blue Haired Widows. In fact, I'm a bit concerned that she is so outspoken about a few issues that she sees as wrong*, such as the child abuse coverup. Fortunately, when you're really really old with decades of service in The Truth and a shitload of donation receipts, you can get away with some stuff for which others might get a visit in the backroom..............DOC
* but just maybe she is planting a few "seeds" of dissent or doubt
They've never once brought up topics about child abuse at least while i was still a JW in watchtowers or awakes or in the young people ask book because there's been cases in the US since the 1960's of it happening maybe even before that. Why because it was a huge problem now you have sex offenders going to the watchtower society asking that there records be destroyed within AUS, UK and US there's been a few causes in the US more recently as well but they aren't as publicly known as most of the ones in AUS but really hopefully more people realize what the organization is doing and decide to leave.
