I don't think its a question of the most tactful way to teach homophobia. You can tactfully teach your kids any kind of discrimination you yourself possess.
The tactless part is for an organization that benefits as a religion (tax exemption etc) to make a systematic cartoon aimed at children. Many groups are intolerant of people that are different from them, not everyone is making Pixar cartoons to demonstrate it! And this is a Jehovah's Witnesses discussion board is it not? Can we talk about why this is twisted they use members tax free dollars to produce this type of thing? To demand tolerance and freedom as a religion then turn around and so disgustingly (seemingly tactfully) make a children's instructional video?
They could have done' the same thing with something like shunning, polished it up into a nice little cartoon that would make the witnesses seem almost sweet about it, but we would all know exactly what the message is no matter how they deliver it.
Being a homophobic organization is low

The English congs in the area are so dry, the members so distant from each other; I compare them to hard dry toast. I could easily understand the bitterness of some ex-JWs in this forum if they grew up in an English cong
I could never be part of an English cong;no real fun there. They do their weddings at 10 a.m. while we do them in the evening so that we can eat, dance up a storm and... drink!
Our take of this doomsday cult is quite different from the rest. We shall have fun while waiting on...... Jehovah?!😋

DY, I admit I haven't seen the video (I really can't stomach watching the videos) but I had the same thought:

So, my question to the JWs would be: Is it appropriate to teach younger children to tell school mates their parents are in a relationship that doesn't merit "paradise"? This would be my problem with a video like this (along with the homophobia, of course).
The JWs think they have a right to tell other people how to live their lives. That is an integral part of their culture. The first reason in my mind that made me leave the "org".
Talesin, I know of a situation (possibly two) of a suicide because the young person couldn't "meet the requirements" of the "org". My sympathy to you about your friend.

It's rich seeing Doubtfully Yours judging gays as deviant and at the same time going to sites like this while being an active JW, but that's typical hippocritical and judgemental JW behavior.

Parents have the most influence with their children. A young child believes what their parents tell them.
This is how racism, bigotry and delusional religious beliefs get passed along to the next generation.
What concerned me is that these are instructional video's for young children. There was no need to produce such a stupid video. The mother only knows that a school mate has two mothers. She doesn't know if they are sisters or if one is a niece and the other is an aunt.
Instead She goes out of her way to make this an unnecessary JW 'teachable moment'.
The WTBT$ trip themselves up constantly with their jw.org video's.

You're still trying to defend the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses. Maybe you should move on and leave people alone and follow your own advice instead of trolling the forums.

I am genuinely shocked at how many people posting on the various threads addressing this topic don't get why this cartoon is so offensive.
It's not just that it's telling children being gay is dangerous (which is bad enough in it's own right). It's also instructing kids to go out and tell other kids that being gay is dangerous. The little girl in the cartoon is expected to teach her classmate about a paradise that her Moms wouldn't ever be allowed to be a part of.
JW children are already the school pariah. Instructing them to go around attacking the family structure of other kids is only go to make things that much worse for them. And be very hard on the kids who's parents are being singled out as "dangerous".
This cartoon is not benign. Nor is it their "same old bigotry". Rather, this is a whole new low. Don't be deceived by the pixar animation and happy music. It's a disgusting piece of propaganda.
