So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?

    Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I have to let people know (again) that the Hospital Liaison Committee™ Elders™ would be able to access printouts from the hospital of current in-patients who have JW listed as their religious affiliation. It is IMPERITIVE that you have *ANY* reference to your past JW affiliation REMOVED from your chart if you want to avoid contact with HLC people pretending to provide "pastoral care" to patients in hospital.

    I learned this from my own hospitalization over 30 years ago - prior to my admission, I had signed a declaration that I did not want nor need visitation from pastoral services following the birth of my youngest child. Somebody ignored that document: an Elder™ who had access to my CONFIDENTIAL information due to his "Pastoral Care" status. I asked him how he found me and he disclosed that he obtained a list of JW patients who were currently hospitalized. At the time I was a JW in Good Standing™, but I didn't see the need for a visit, since I wasn't sick and was going to be discharged with my baby in 48 hours. The door to my private room was closed. My curtain was pulled. He didn't knock. He didn't announce his presence in my room. He swung open the curtains to find me with my upper body exposed, breastfeeding my baby. He did not excuse himself, nor did he turn away.(*pervert*) In no uncertain terms, I told him that I did NOT WANT nor NEED a Shepherding Call™ because I wasn't sick and I was going to be discharged in a couple of days. He knew I was on the Maternity Ward, and he disregarded my specific written request for privacy. I told him off and gave him shit for interrupting me feeding the baby, and I reported him to the nurse who was looking after me, and she took it very seriously.

    If you DO NOT WANT them to find you, YOU MUST UPDATE your hospital records ASAP, before you have a surgical procedure or are involved in a traumatic situation where having a blood transfusion may be vital to your survival.

    They're trying to fool the governments into believing that they are kinder and gentler, but until they disband the HLC murder* committees, they're the same evil bastards that they always were.

    Scully is right: make sure your hospital and other medical records do not contain the slightest hint that you were ever associated with those psychopathic mofos.

    * Hyperbole? Perhaps...

    Even though I was raised Catholic, I believe I claimed Agnostic the last time I was in a hospital.

    I wouldn’t want the claim to any religion to complicate my life or cause me to have unwanted conversations with anybody. Even if it were the end, I don’t really want anybody praying over me.

    I just say Christian, that seems to stop any other questions, if they ask more I'd just say non denominational.

    Last two surgeries in California we requested "Confidentiality"- no visitors-no religion. The LAST thing we want is a visit from some uninvited HLC hillbilly from Watchtower while recovering from surgery. Most of them simply want to snoop at your chart to see if you took blood, had an std, abortion, etc.
