Caleb and Sophia's parents split up. You see, their father who was an elder was found out to be a scum-bag elder who knew of child sex abuse cases but didn't report it to the relevant authorities. So he was arrested for hiding a crime and sent to prison along with all other local elders and elders at the local branch office.

Then their mother turned to pills and drink to numb the pain and shame once her prayers to Jehovah were not answered.

Caleb and Sophia saw how messed up their religious upbringing was, and pursued their education right through to UNIVERSITY, and became cult-counsellors and set up a practice to help others leave high control religious organizations...
