Oh wow...yep, there is nothing culty about having EVERY word scripted!?!?
TBH, I think it's more about the quality - without a clear outline/script, a lot of chairmen often just end up waffling a bit in a mumble - a chairman needs to be clear, direct and positive to have any hope of an audience paying attention - that's true in both jw-land AND non-jw-land.
What is interesting though is how badly the script is formatted - actually it isn't formatted - the lines just run on - which means if the chairman looks up (yes novelty of some audience contact) the person often looses his place in the script.
Actually they expect the Chairman to type/write it all out themselves because there are so many [brackets] where addition information needs to be added and no room has been provided - the problem is...how many chairmen actually do type it all out....
