Interesting as it is from sociological viewpoint, the high priests also created power toward themselves by proclaiming they received spiritual guidance and channeling from their expressively created gods , similar to how the leaders of most religions today. ie. JWS

Those that wrote the "jesus" story, used the "noah" myth to add credence to their efforts, appealing to the perceived authenticity of the described events. whether they knew of the fictional character of the "flood"or not, the effect is that the whole story, inundation and "jesus' " comments about it, could not possibly have happened as described.

What does that say? That he was just a local middle eastern man that thought he was special. He also spoke of Adam and Eve as being real. So again, he didn't have any special knowledge, he just believed in the same things that people believed at that time.
He could have taught them about preventing infection, or fighting disease, or any other truly remarkable thing. But he didn't, because he simply didn't know. He was just a local rebel, an activist, and a clearly delusional individual that was able to convince thousands of weak-minded individuals that he was the son of god. There is nothing remarkable about this. 2000 years ago people were incredibly ignorant and primed to believe in the most idiotic things as they did.
If Jesus lived today, with the power of analysis and critical thinking we have now, he would be quickly dismissed as a fraud and either committed to a mental institution, or if left free, would likely spend his days in Times Square yelling at passer-bys about repenting. -
