l heard a rumour that there will be an award for GB called grand poo bar championship.The award will go to the member best described as out bullshitting their opponents.Like they say bull shit baffles brains and theve all got it in spades.

It is very true, the "old school" GB 1, was very quiet, elusive, and behind the scenes. Quite frankly, I believe it added to the perceived illusion of their "mystique". The "enlightened ones" behind the scenes, and running the show, if you will.
They were good old, Bethel boys, through and through. The GB 1, for the longest time, were content in running the show, behind the scenes, and pulling the strings.
WOW, have things changed. We all must realize that this new, in your face, T.V star GB 2.0, are mostly all EX-CIRCUIT OVERSEERS. This, I feel, is the reason for their egos, and want, love, for the spotlight. They just are NOT content being behind the scenes.
It really all makes sense, if you think about it. Being that they are mostly ex CO overseers, they were used to being the "center of attention", wherever they went. The would show up each week to a knew kingdom hall, and literally be gawked at by the Rank and File. "OHH I want to work out in service with the CO and his wife". "OHH I cant wait for the CO's talk". OHH did you here what the CO said". "OHH I am gonna have the CO over for lunch". BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, all the while the CO is taking it in, and filling his head up, like he is some GOD.
Then do not forget, the REAL power a CO has. He could make or break an Elder body, and "knock" this elder down, while lifts that Elder up, meanwhile, it is all a continued "head trip" for him.
Well, that's who these new GB 2.0's are. Power hungry, spotlight hungry, attention hungry, bathing in the illusions of their own self proclaimed "power".
They want to be up in the front and center. On the very top of their empire of bullshit. The "stars" of the Governing Body show, on JW.ORG.
Well guess what, GB 2.0, it IS YOUR DOWNFALL! You are seen for the, double talking, two tongued, serpents, that you are. Your faults, and nonsensical ramblings, are up front for all to see. The "illusion" that once existed, of your "divinity", has fallen before everyones eyes. You are foolish, poorly equipped, delusional MEN, and you are FULLY, COMPLETELY, and UTERLLY EXPOSED now, and YOU did it to yourselves, as your PRIDE drove you into your own DEMISE!
And to all of the few remaining out there, that still give these MEN any power or worship, I say to you, BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS!

Let us not forget that the WTBTS has been forced to re-brand. The passage of time has proven their brand to be untrustworthy, which has caused a significant increase in disenfranchised "consumers" of their products. The WTBTS is being forced to "mainstream" for the sake of survival, although they will never openly admit to that fact.
The GB had no choice, except to go public. It has been a much needed shot in the arm for the consumer. I've never heard "The Slave" mentioned so much in all my life. The only problem is that the GB are fighting years of WTBTS false prophecy and their own lunacy, and the Information Age is not helping them.
It seems that re-branding has worked when you consider that J-dub zealots are fired up like never before. It's just that the "true believers" are bat-shit crazy, bigoted morons who are causing an entirely different set of problems for HQ. The GB themselves are harming their brand by being in the spotlight. Now they have printed an article urging J-dumb R&F to give them their due respect, just don't worship them! LOL!!!
Time will tell if they can survive the onslaught of time, the Information Age, their many court battles which have been caused by their own hubris. If history has taught us anything, it's that winning battles on multiple fronts is extremely rare.
I personally believe the GB's advisors are urging them to remove themselves from the spotlight and insert the GB Helpers in their place. It was a mistake for the GB to ever enter the spotlight, in my opinion. The GB Helpers could have been front and center this whole time as spokesmen for the GB. The mystery could have been preserved somewhat, but it's too late now.

Excellent point, Dunedain, one I've often thought about making but never got around to it. The old guard were dyed-in-the-wool Bethelites from their youth, shaped by and accustomed to the pervasive, rigorous work ethic and Spartan lifestyle of the place. Even the best of them were subject to censure or tongue lashings by Rutherford or any lesser taskmaster on the slightest pretext. I recall one old-timer recounted how the the young Knorr worked in the factory like he was driven. In contrast, this current lot is exactly as Dunedain described above, soft and used to being cosseted and fawned over, admired by the locals. -

There is a sense of hubris in which the members of the governing body view their appointment for office. A privilege they think... but it is also a poisoned chalice.
The first and overriding need at the start of the new century was to fix an enormous patch on the gaping wound inflicted by Fred Franz’s colossal error of the “1914-generation”.
The way they attempted it was by getting the most affable and least assertive GB member Jack Barr to sell his soul to the devil and contrive an excuse. Using tried and tested Watchtower brand logic, he said to the long suffering and gullible masses that when Jesus used the word generation he “evidently” meant overlapping generations. (pause for vomit)
This implausible claptrap has set the tone for the post 2000 GB. The Watchtower looked stale and backward. The glorious information revolution was under way and the Tower was under threat. This threat has in fact increased the pressure on the GB by exposing their dirty washing in public. For example their gross hypocrisy in denouncing the UN organization and secretly joining it. Another internet exposure is their total incapacity for a humane response to the children sexually abused in their midst.
A rebranding was advised and carried through to forget the ugly, sterile and antique Watchtower logo and replace it with” JW org” on a heavenly blue background. (As the RC Church uses for its prime icon Mary). Perhaps with a new logo and flashy TV channel, the JW punters would be distracted away from the 1914 blunder and be seduced by the GB on the small screen?
Forget Fred Franz and his intellectual garbage; dumb it down so that the most uneducated third world peasant can understand. The West and its sophistication have had enough of Watchtower prattle...the developing world is the new target area.
The touchstone for success under GB2.0 is now that of loyalty to the GB. Sins can always be forgiven but NOT disloyalty to the seven baboons of Brooklyn.
The public appearance of the GB on the JWTV extravaganza must have been seen as a public relations attempt to get the flock to be more familiar with HQ. However, they present as either oddballs or inept. I would imagine their PR advisers now think differently and must withdraw them offstage to redeem themselves away from the TV spotlights.
Hubris is always answered by the Gods...

I think the GB have had to go from anonymous to TV stars.
I think the rise of the internet has forced their hand. Masses of information are readily available to many millions of ordinary people.
The WT response has been their own website and TV channel featuring Lett & co, in an attempt to control the info and spin it to the JW faithful.
I'm fairly sure GB members would rather stay in the background like Franz but they just can't afford to do this today.
