I remember a colourful jw book that tried to make the case that the Eden account and the Job account was about the great controversity of who man must choose as ruler God or satan. That is a bad case. These accounts, and I notice Job is in the wisdom litterature genre, deal with the human experience with sufferring as a life condition in contrast to the heavenly bodies we will have later 1 Corinthians 15

Adam may have been perfect but had the intelligence of a little kid. It wasn't until they ate the fruit and became like God they realized they were naked.

How nice of a loving god to leave a "kid" exposed to a much wiser and shrewd being like Satan.

It's as loving as a parent leaving a kid at home alone, with the absolute prohibition of not touching one toy, and then introduce an adult in the picture whose entire job is to spend the day convincing the kid to touch the toy.

If you want to simplify the fact about why God put the tree in the garden, think about this. God gave Adam and Eve everything on Earth to enjoy.

Is this the same shortsighted god that couldn't even figure out on his own that Adam needed an Eve?

If you were God and gave man and woman everything to the eye on Earth freely, how would you know they truly were appricitive of the gift?

Are you telling me you can't give your kids something and tell if they appreciate it without threatening them with something else? Somehow I've been able to appreciate the good in things without having something else withheld. What a warped view of life. I once met someone for lunch, someone I really had never known, and they bought my lunch. I thought that was awesome even without them holding another meal for me at another restaurant that I wasn't to partake of. I mean really, does this make sense on any level?

Man through the centuries proven they can't get along without God.

Actually man has proven through the centuries that having god makes them fight and kill each other.

If you ask a kindergartner they would tell you the answer: Just stop fighting Wars and stop harming each other.

Will you kindly tell your god the same so that he doesn't have to slaughter everyone? Or are kindergarten kids more moral than him?

John Tron 72 : What you said in your latest post might makes sense if you only read JW publications and don't look beyond the JW world. You are seeing things in a very one dimensional way. If you believe all of what you've said, I'm not sure why you even made your original post.

What would you think if a father built his children a play house and put a pile of broken glass over in one corner just to see if they'd show their appreciation for him by not playing in that corner? I'm guessing you'd think he was a pretty sick man and you'd wonder why he needed so badly to be appreciated.

If he hadn't placed the tree there for them and later thier kids to substain from they might have ended up like the people on The Time Machine who had become lazy and unconcerned like when Weena fell in the stream....

He could have created us any way he wanted...he could have made us so that we didn't even need oxygen if he chose to. Perhaps he should have created people that could live forever without this problem as well.

How would we know? God supposedly cursed mankind and made everything difficult for him. If a human father hobbled his children and inflicted sickness and disease on them just to prove how needy they are, he'd be considered a monster.

There has to be respect for God and others even with free will.

I want my children to respect me because of the admirable things I do. It's would be meaningless if I had to threaten to punish them if they didn't.

At some point the badness of this world teaches the children to become self absorbed and hate and lose that innocent quality. You cannot deny this fact is true.

Children are born self absorbed....they are wired that way, thats how they survive. They make sure that above all else, that their own needs are met. Have you heard how loudly a newborn baby can cry when it's hungry or wet? It's only as we grow older that we learn to have empathy for others.

God is the one who intentionally brought sickness and death upon humankind and made our lives difficult instead of punishing Satan, the one who deceived his "innocent child like "creation. If humans are self absorbed and hateful and if the story of Adam and Eve is true, then God is the one who made it so by choosing not to follow his own rules about forgiveness and returning evil for evil.

It would be unjust of a father to punish his small children after they had been deceived by a much older sibling punish them in an equally harsh manner. If the story of the Bible is true, Satan has been alive since before Adam and Eve were created and is still living yet billions of humans have suffered, grown old and died. How is this the act of a loving father?

If I were God, then I would know everything, by definition. I would be omniscient. I would absolutely know, necessarily.

Getting into the Biblical speculation (for shirts and giggles):

Does the Bible say how long Adam went without his Eve? I don’t recall a number ... why couldn’t he have gone womanless for hundreds of thousands of years? Does the Bible say how long they were together in the garden?

Yeah, I know Genesis talks about the creative “days”, but hell, even the WT regards those as metaphorical days, consisting of undetermined amounts of time.

Maybe Eve was a nag, and a few thousand years into it :

This will make a lot of people angry but, it is absolutely true and only if you believe in God will it seem obvious although I've had an Elder get angry at me for saying it. God has only had a hand in making 3 human people directly. Adam, Eve and Jesus. I get tired of people thinking they have God given talents or that if they are gay say, God made me that way. God Only made Adam and Eve to reproduce and have children. He hasn't had a hand in it except for Jesus birth. How so?, Sure he knows each of us from the womb or can count our hairs but, Jehovah doesn't create anything to be imperfect. If you believe he has a hand in each life and how it will turn out than you are saying he makes a child be born without a leg or even dead. God doesn't create imperfection. We are all imperfect since Adam. He has seen the heart , not outside of those he chose through time to use for teaching us through deed and even those have failed him because, of imperfection. I tried telling this to an Elder and as he realized I boxed him in on it, he was furious. Fact is NO ONE has God Given Talents. Also, the term Unconditional Love a parent is supposed to have is a human made up word. Gays try to say: What about Unconditional Love?" God certainly puts Condition on Love or he would forgive Satan or even Adam. The human line is in the shape it is because of themselves. Anyone who claims God or deny he exist is just trying to pass the blame of why things are wrong all these thousands of years. No one wants to blame themselves but, they sure blame God!

Didn`t Jehovah create the first murder weapon ? A ( flaming ) sword ? a time when there was no industry in existence to produce such an instrument of war.

Wasn`t Jehovah the first to authorise his chosen people to commit genocide ? among the nations killing man woman and child .
