The people you mention also have to earn a living to pay bills, have a roof over their head, put food on the table, right?? Therefore, they can’t be doing things for Free! I am assuming they paid for their own education.

All that schooling and these seemingly intelligent people never learned how to say ‘NO’??? I guess since I was not raised-in it was easier to say ‘No’ and stand up for myself. Forgive me for being annoyed to even read about this.

After a doing a favor once, the next time should be a ‘No’. Maybe they should all go back and take some self-assertiveness courses and practice saying ‘No’ in front of a mirror.

The way the letter was read to all congregations must have got some very puzzling looks. It certainly did in my congregation.

The way it started was almost as if a new school for kingdom evangelisers or something, but the word LEGAL was in there. It was like a new exciting avenue of service but then hang on that doesn’t make sense but don’t worry about that for now. Any who want to apply please submit an application.

All the enthusiastic die hard PIMI’s are thinking “Oh a new school I want to be a part of that” but then they see the hypocrisy when we were all told not to go for further education.

Everyone must be asking the question why are they asking for those with legal experience?

Sorry to come on so strong but I wasn’t directing it at you. This topic makes my blood boil.

While there are those on here who wonder if this for CSA cases, I don’t care what they want the free legal help for. It’s the principle of the thing that the religion unashamedly knocked people who got college/careers.

Worse yet, hateful attitudes and class distinctions were evident in the congregations because of this. The only ‘good JWs’ were in the cleaning or window washing business. If you had college or white collar job that was ‘bad’. These cleaners were partly responsible for the bad attitudes (this is why I don’t feel sorry at the cliche jokes about cleaners that some get offended by).

I saw this and experienced condemnation and not being invited because I wouldn’t quit my job. Even though I’m glad I never caved in to the pressure - I can never forgive the religion for their hypocrisy!

They stopped sending chosen, clever Bethelites to Uni to become lawyers now they are stuck with whatever they can get. That one worked out well for them.

I think that the initial feeling is one of pride and joy at being able to help Jehovah's organization. I did a lot of IT work for local brothers and sisters, and never charged a dime. Many of them actually offered payment, and some insisted on paying me. Even though what they offered was a small fraction compared to what I earned at my job, it did not worry me, as I was helping people who would also help us from time-to-time.

But yes, there were some brothers who found it very handy to have free tech support, and they wore me out after a while. When you know you have someone who will show up and work for free, suddenly you no longer try to fix things yourself, and you panic at every issue, no matter how minor. It's like having an auto-mechanic friend who will work on your car for free, and suddenly you need to report every noise or minor issue you think is happening, while also asking for monthly oil changes, and so on.

It is obviously getting too expensive to employ capable Lawyers from the World, to defend the indefensible, and in the twisted minds of the G.B they are probably thinking that "worldly" Lawyers would not receive Jehoober's blessing or assistance, which is why cases fail, or at least achieve nothing like what the G.B would like to see.

I wonder what they will think when all who accept this "privilege" turn out to be WORSE than Brumley et al ?

practice saying ‘No’ in front of a mirror.

The most intelligent man I ever knew (my father) also made the same suggestion. Start with saying "Ehn" and finish with "Oh". Do that over and over until the two blend into just one word, "NO".

That is one of the most liberating words ones can tell JW's.

    Working for free, hey.

    How more exploitive is that.

    You know…

I can absolutely picture Letto the Clown saying that, verbatim, and meaning every fucking word.

    🤣

Yes, Watchtower loves to discourage any education but when it gets into legal trouble, it wants a free bee. No free bees in life.
