Do you think that society is starting to move away from religion?

First a Texas law banning Sodomy was thrown out. Then The Ten Commandments were removed from the Rotunda of Alabama's Judicial Building.

This question was asked by The Christian Science Monitor:Where Does GOD Belong?

I know he is on the money,"In God We Trust",right on the money!

    Lets hope so.

The first thing that causes hate in this world is religion, it's the source of all evil.

Mankind has always worshipped God, they are afraid to admit that when you die, you die. In the beginning, man created God !

Maybe there is a God, maybe there isn't. But I did hear an old tale that it is faith that keeps him alive. The more people that have faith in him, the more he lives. No wait, now i'm just talking rubbish. Waiter !

It's hard to say since if you think in a broad sense; people will always make something their God, even if it is only a set of guiding principles in which to form a world view.

I suspect that "God" will always be with us in one form or another.

I read a sign once in a bar that said:

"In God we trust. The rest pay cash"

    lol Andy.

I don't know if God exists. What I do know is that it can't be the way the Dubbs say.

God belongs where he chooses to be ... and from all indications thus far, he seems to choose the silent spot as he simply observes, seemingly uninvolved. I agree with Hamas on this one that religion is the root of most of our social ills ... simply look at Islam and one sees the need for God to stay right where he is while the rest of the world removes religion.

    Howdy Jim,

If we are to take the bibles own words from Timothy and Titus for example and we heed the words to set up structure such as deacons and bishops and arrange to take care of fellow christian widows and orphans and do missionary work, and to have teachers who correct false doctrine, and to fellowship together regularly, ....with other fellow believers......then how do you stay away from..............................religion?

God seems to be happy right where He is, in the political clutches of the political right in the west, and in his guise as Allah, happy to be used as a torch to inflame all sorts of death and horror.

If God should bother to touch my tiny heart, He'd better have a better message for me than He's given these other mongers of slaughter. Something about understanding each other, universal love, forgiving each other, treating each other as brothers.

    Oh, that was the message?

Tough for God that the message has been so bastardised.

But easy for me to see a way to be understanding each other, forgiving of faults, to treat everyone as my brother.

And God need not enter into it. In fact I believe that if God can keep himself out of it, I'll do just fine on my own.

    God belongs in every heart.

    And not in church.

God doesn't go to church, why should I?

I'm really enraged at the current anti-porn movement!

I'm with you. That's at the top of my list too. Porn should be taught in every grade school.... as young as possible.... society shouldn't have any restrictions, they should allow it on billboards to bring it out in the open for everyone to enjoy..... hell, porn should be on our postage stamps and on stickers that they give to little kids to reward them for good deeds. I'm with you... I'm ANTI anti-porn. (not)
