    hi everybody.

i havent said too much here recently, mainly due to a severe lack of anything to say !, however, tonight my old hall has had a special meeting with a talk by the head of the ireland branch. he is visiting for a week and afterwords all present will be having snacks and drinks, IN THE HALL.

please tell me what is happening with the world when special saterday night meetings are held with refreshments. i think its because about 10 people have left recently and made no secret of their reasons, but still, its unheard of for this to happen.

    Any thoughts

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Watchtower Study needs a free buffet!

    Hey Josephus....

Every once in a while we used to do a little gathering at the Hall... Sandwiches, yummy deserts and some beverages (non-alcoholic of course) it would just be a get together... but very rare.... it kinda took the place of the picnics we used to have...Visit Smiley Central!

I think the rep from the branchVisit Smiley Central! might be the reason for this one, prolly out to "encourage" Visit Smiley Central! the flock by the sounds of it... a bit of damage control since the cong has taken such a pounding lately... they'll try to get the ones that are there sticking together Visit Smiley Central!Visit Smiley Central!. good times and all that...

    Josephus,

If it is Arthur Matthews, arguably the most boring man on the Planet, be sure to take a sleeping bag, and I do not mean his wife.

i recall in my hall, whalley congregation, surrey, bc, canada

in 20 years, 78-98- not once were we 'allowed' to have teas, etc of any kind. told we are not like the worldy churches with bingo and weddings etc

i know of a kingdom hall, about 40 miles away, about a year ago, that had a funeral (memorial) and had the tea (sandwiches, tea, cookies, etc) in the second school for all to partake....hhmmmmmmmm

My wife and I faded some 20 years ago and at that time, what you have described was a definite no, no. We had to take advantage of a free meeting place for get togethers. I think they are getting desperate. Bug

With the frequency that the sisters went to the ladies room, I had always suspected that they had a salad bar in there.

I guess it's a sure fire way to keep the obese people showing up at the hall there .
