Internet Witnessing

As it's been said on here before, the door to door work is very ineffective, and it's incredibly slow. With the internet being available at people's fingertips, the JWs could get their message out even faster by writing emails, posting on message boards, etc. I have to wonder if any of the R&F are thinking this as well, and are wondering why the society hasn't added the internet to FS, Phone Witnessing, and writing letters.

Benefits of using the internet would be reaching more people in less time, putting a link directly to watchtower.org so people can read more right away, easier for the physically disabled.

Disadvantages of using the internet would be trying to figure out how to calculate hours, since the society requires a certain amount of hours rather than people reached.

I can absolutely assure you that if I ever received an email from a JW doing random "internet witnessing", I would immediately report the offender as a SPAMMER.

If someone tried to e-mail me and witness, it would be too easy to provide many, many links on subjects regarding the truth behind the WTS.

Then I could e-mail them back over and over with even more links.

    The Society cannot risk that.

Therefore, internet witnessing will not take place. Plus, remember, according to the assemblies that were so lovingly provided, the witnesses are not supposed to be on the net anyways.

Perhaps soon we will see a JWISP...you log in and remember our motto "Jehover is watching you!"...That way the good brothers and sisters could be monitored for Apostate or porn activity AND they could have their time recorded...viola! This commercial brought to you by The Revelation Book and your Faithful and Discrete ISP Jehovatel.

    Sincerely,

The thing is, I remember when I was "in", I would hear about how the society used the latest technology to get their work done. They even put out a video on this called "Jehovah's Witnesses: The Organization Behind The Name". Why don't they live up to these stupid claims?

...Oh yeah, they're replacing their 40 year old printing presses. I forgot. :P

I agree, why not, why not post the magazines on their web-site if they are so INTERESTED in contacting everyone on this planet. Why not have a library on-line with every single publication made since 1879, why not ??? Would this not be a great witness to the entire world and show that they are really trying to do God's work. And simply ask for donations on line, like so many web-sites do. WHY ??? because they are NOT interested in contacting all they can, if a new set up does not produce money, they are not interested, the magazine subscriptions is PROOF of that, you cannot get a subscription anymore. How is this preaching God's word ??? Why does it matter how many hours are put in ??? is not contacting people and preaching the main work ??? NOPE ! What is more beneficial a person out in service for 60 hours and talks to maybe 60 people, or a person who spends 60 minutes on the internet and could talk/leave a message to 6000. This is why I beleive the Watchtower is in trouble, the world is advancing at an incredible pace, they can't keep up, they can't keep their secrets hidden ANYMORE. Growing up a JW, I knew nothing about Russell, Rutherford and his Beth Sarim fiascal, 1935, 1975, Knorr, Franz, generation change (I was gone before this changed) etc etc etc. For all JW's lurking, if this does not prove to you that the Watchtower is full of themselves and BS, I guess there is no hope for you.

JWs don't know how to witness online... they always end up in very heated arguments and debates in the forums. This in turn makes JWs as a whole look real bad because the messages they posted cannot be denied... they are there for the whole world to see.

When a JW does something stupid at a door, the only person aware of it is the person they were talking to and there is no record... therefore deniability. The WTS is very much aware of this and actively discourages JWs from making public statements about the organization...

Talk: Beware the Voice of Strangers (Time Stamp: 19:35)
Something we want to keep in mind, friends, is that we don’t want to be personally refuting these untruths unless Jehovah’s Organization assigns us to do that publicly. Now when we talk to people in our ministry and elsewhere and they bring up points about what they have heard or read, sure, then we can present the truth to them. But we don’t want to be doing that publicly, because that very often just leads to worse reports about us.

let's go one step farther, why doesn't the Watchtower televise their conventions on the internet, people could log on and listen to the assembly, (they do it at your local kingdom hall, how many listen in on the phone line) would this not be a grand witness to the world ???

It would, but no money to be made, and very few donations.
